Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé began performing in local competitions at age 7, eventually forming the group Girl's Tyme in 1990 with help from her parents. Girl's Tyme became Destiny's Child in 1997.
During the hiatus of Destiny's Child in 2003, Beyoncé released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, which became one of the most successful albums of that year, and signaled her viability as a solo artist. The disbanding of Destiny's Child in 2005 facilitated her continued success: her sophomore solo album B'Day, released in 2006, debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. Her third solo album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, was released in November 2008, and in 2009 she received 10 Grammy Awards nominations. On January 31, 2010, she won 6 Grammy Awards, breaking the record for most Grammy awards won by a female artist in one night; she previously held the record of five awards with 5 other artists. Following a career hiatus, Beyoncé released her fourth studio album entitled "4" on June 24, 2011, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.

"RENAISSANCE" was released on July 29, 2022, and was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic, seeking to inspire joy in listeners. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It became the best-rated album of 2022, named the best album of the year by publications such as the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, and Rolling Stone, which would later place the record at number 71 on their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. It then was nominated for Album of The Year at the 65 Annual Grammy Award Show and won Best Dance/Electronic Album.

But I'm finally here
So I just wanna testify
Make it crystal clear (take your time)
See, I've been picked out
To be picked on (oh Lord)
Talked about out my friend's mouth
I've been beat down
(Turn my life around)
Seems like I always fall short
Of bein' worthy
'Cause I ain't good enough
But He still loves me
I ain't no superstar
The spotlight ain't shinin' on me
(No, no, no, no, no)
'Cause I ain't good enough
But he still loves me
Loves me
I used to wake up some days
And wish I'd stayed asleep
'Cause I went to bed on top of the world
Today the worlds on top of me
Now everybody's got opinions
(They share)
But they ain't been in my position
(They don't care)
That it breaks my heart when I hear what they
Have to say about me, yeah
(What they say about you?)
Seems like I always fall short (fallin' short)
Of bein worthy (Lord, I ain't worthy)
'Cause I ain't good enough (no, no)
But He still loves me (but you still love me, Lord)
I ain't no superstar (I ain't no superstar)
The spotlight ain't shinin' on me (I wanna be for you)
'Cause I ain't good enough (oh, no)
But He still loves me
I'm not perfect (I'm not perfect)
Yes, I do wrong (yes, I do wrong)
I'm trying my best, but (trying my best, but)
It ain't good enough (just ain't good enough)
Shunned by the world (I'm shunned by the world)
When I don't succeed (if I don't succeed)
'Cause I ain't good enough (I ain't good enough)
But He still loves me (just ain't good enough)
But you love me
If you ain't worthy, just raise your hands
And let me know that you understand
That we are all so blessed
To be loved, loved
Stand for him or fall for anything
'Cause through his eyes, we all look the same
What will we do
Without plan?
Feels like we always fall short
Of bein' worthy (we are not worthy)
'Cause I ain't good enough (no)
But He still loves me (but you still love me, me, me)
I'm not perfect (I'm not perfect, no, no, no)
Yes, I do wrong (yes, I do wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong)
I'm trying my best, but (trying my best)
It ain't good enough (I ain't good enough)
Shunned by the world (shunned by the world)
When I don't succeed (I don't succeed)
'Cause I ain't good enough (I ain't good enough)
But He still loves me (the Lord still loves me)
No, I ain't good enough
But He still loves me (raise your hands if you understand)
No, I ain't good enough (how he blessed you, 'cause he blessed me too)
But He still loves me
(Even though I ain't worthy)
No, I ain't good enough (you ain't worthy, He's there for you)
But He still loves me
(No matter what I do)
No, I ain't good enough (I ain't good enough)
But he still loves me
(But the Lord still loves me)
The song "He Still Loves Me" is an uplifting and inspiring song that speaks to people who feel unworthy, unloved, and picked on. The lyrics are sung by two artists, Beyoncé and Walter Williams SR. (of The O'Jays). The song captures Beyoncé's feelings of inadequacy and struggles with being perfect. She admits to being shunned by the world, but seeks to find solace in the unconditional love of God.
The song's opening lines, "Took me a while but I'm finally here, so I just wanna testify, make it crystal clear," express the singer's realization of her worth, which had taken her some time to discover. She acknowledges being picked on by friends and talked about, only to be beaten down until God turned her life around. The following line suggests a feeling of inadequacy, but despite the singer's perceived shortcomings, the song emphasizes that God still loves her.
The song is not just about Beyoncé's struggles with feelings of inadequacy or her personal journey with God. It's a message of hope to all those who feel unworthy and unlovable. The lyrics encourage listeners always to remember that God loves them, no matter what they do, say, or feel.
