Although Beyond Decay's opinions aren't universal and vary throughout many of their songs, concerns of homophobia in society, racism, the capitalist system, hidden corporate agenda’s, mass media, mass consumption, change, and ignorance, are some of the topics their music touches on. Lyrics differ from politically charged songs to some positive messages found in the reggae/dub songs such as, "Until the day the world unites, we will never rest."
Beyond Decay has proven time and time again, that they are a force to be reckoned with in the ska-punk scene. The release of their first EP “Buds Not Bombs” had a great success, selling the first 100 copies at their CD Release show. With a full length on the horizon, Beyond Decay shows no signs of slowing down. So keep yer eyes and yer ears open, because Beyond Decay is currently busy recording their full length album, releasing it in September/August 2007 and a split with Corporation due out July 6th.
Money Makes Me Sick
Beyond Decay Lyrics

the corporate bomb ticks,
cause money fuels the rich,
money makes me sick,
as time goes on,
we'll all be done,
one by one,
burnt out like the sun,
you got your money in your hands,
and your money feels great,
and i'm laughing in your face cause you're a total fucking fake,
capitalism is a thought integrated in our lives,
just put away those fries cause it's all just full of lies,
another politician wants to bank his weary eyes,
by infesting us with more of his deadly corporate lies,
if you bomb a country with your bullshit oil drilling,
and your pockets get fatter thats called war profiteering,
As we fight back the rich,
the corporate bomb ticks,
cause money fuels the rich,
money makes me sick,
as time goes on,
we'll all be done,
one by one,
burnt out like the sun,
the war will be won,
Rolling the dice, in the corporate game of lies,
Speaking through your ass with your freedom fry lies,
Terrorists strike your homeland and you still wonder why?
I'm a tell you something true and that is you ought to die
The lyrics in Beyond Decay's song "Money Makes Me Sick" criticize the wealthy and the capitalist system that enables them to accumulate money at the expense of the working class. The song also takes aim at politicians who prioritize profits over the well-being of their constituents, and corporations that engage in war profiteering. The verses describe a bleak future where everyone will eventually burn out like the sun, implying that the rampant greed and corruption will only lead to the destruction of society.
The chorus emphasizes the theme of the song, stating that money makes the singer sick, as it is the source of all the problems they see around them. The use of the word "corporate bomb" highlights the destructive power of capitalism, while "war will be won" suggests that there is a battle between the rich and the poor that will eventually be resolved.
The lyrics also express a frustration with the American government's foreign policy, particularly its involvement in oil drilling and the resulting wars. The line "Rolling the dice, in the corporate game of lies" suggests that this is all part of some big gamble, where the elite continue to grow richer while the rest suffer the consequences.
Overall, "Money Makes Me Sick" is a punk rock anthem that addresses issues of social and economic inequality. The lyrics are a call to action for listeners to resist the status quo and fight for a fairer and more just society.
