I believe in a hill called mount calvary
I have faith that there was a specific hill named Mount Calvary where Jesus Christ was crucified

I believe whatever the cost
I will hold onto my faith in Jesus Christ no matter the difficulty or price

And when time has surrendered
At the end of time, when everything else has passed away or given up, I will still continue to believe

And earth is no more

And will lead at last to my friend
My faith in Jesus Christ will ultimately allow me to be with Him as a friend and companion

I believe that the Christ
I have faith that Jesus Christ

Who was slain on the cross
Was killed by being hung on a cross

Has the power to change lives today
Is able to transform and make a difference in people's lives even now

For He changed me completely
I have personally experienced the transformation and change that Jesus Christ brings

A new life is mine
I have been given a new life or perspective through my faith in Jesus Christ

And that is why by the cross
This is the reason why I hold onto and place my faith in the old rugged cross

I will stay
I will continue to believe and hold onto my faith in Jesus Christ

Some say faith
There are people who believe that faith

Is just believing
Is simply the act of holding a belief or idea without any evidence or proof

Others say it's self deceiving
People argue that faith is just a way to delude oneself

Inventing, childish dreams
They also suggest that faith is an immature or fantastical concept

To get us through
That people hold onto faith to help them navigate life's challenges and difficulties

Deep inside me
I have a fundamental inner conviction

There's a yearning
I feel a strong desire or longing

For true wisdom
I seek genuine knowledge and understanding

Not just learning
Rather than just acquiring knowledge or information

I'd trade all my clever questions
I am willing to let go of my intellectual curiosity

For one answer that is true
In exchange for a single unequivocal answer that is correct

I do believe
I am convinced that

You are the one
Jesus Christ is the person

The home I've longed to find
That I have been searching and yearning for

My only hope
My sole source of hope and comfort

God's only son
The Biblical figure of Jesus Christ who is considered the son of God

That all along
The entire time

You've longed to be
Jesus Christ has been waiting and wanting to become a part of my life

Lord you know, I need some answers
I am addressing God directly, stating that I am in need of answers

Questions eat at me like cancer
I am being bothered and troubled by questions and issues akin to the way cancer consumes a person

Make me once again, a simple child
I am asking to go back to a more innocent and trusting state of being

Help me take the risk of losing
I am requesting the courage to face the possibility of losing everything

Lose it all to find in choosing
To give up everything in order to make the right choice

To believe You are the answer
To trust in the belief that Jesus Christ is the answer

Earth and heaven reconciled
The balancing or harmonization of the physical and spiritual realms

If you could see what I once was
I am speaking to someone directly about my prior self

If you could go with me
If you could accompany me

Back to where I started from
To a time period in my life when I first started my faith journey

Then I know you would see
I am confident you would notice a difference

A miracle of love that took me
I believe that through the grace of God, I have experienced a transformation or miracle through His love

In it's sweet embrace
I feel wrapped up and enveloped in God's caring love

And made me what I am today
I credit God's love with the type of person I am today

Just an old sinner saved by grace
I acknowledge that I am a sinner, but also believe that I have been saved by God's grace

Now I live and breathe in freedom
Thanks to my faith in God, I feel that I am living unencumbered and with a sense of liberation

With each breath of life I take
Every moment I spend breathing and alive is attributed to God's grace and love

Loved and forgiven, backed with a living
I feel and know that I am loved and forgiven, and am also inspired to live my life in this truth

How could I boast on anything
I cannot brag or pride myself on any of my accomplishments

I've ever seen or done?
No matter what I might have witnessed or been involved in

How could I dare to claim as mine
I do not have the audacity to believe that anything is solely my own doing

The victories God has won?
All accomplishments or successes are attributed to God rather than my own effort

Where would I be
Without faith in God, I would be stuck or limited

Had God not brought me
If it weren't for the grace of God

Gently to this place?
Guiding me to this spot or point in my life

I'm here to say I'm nothing
I admit that I am insignificant

But a sinner saved by grace
However, I acknowledge that I have been saved and forgiven by the grace of God
