Já elskam min góda
Alveg hreint á minútunni
Hæ - ertu á nyjum bil?
Alveg ertu ágetur
Agalega saetur,
ad etla bjoda mér
Eg ef ad thed snjó ar
thá erutil nóga
kedjur sem ad koma
okkur óhult um alla leid
Elskan hann Dóri
minn sterki og stóri
hann styrir svo vel
thott gatan sé ekki breid
O! Tharna er hann! Já
flott skalthad vera
Ford-Model nitjan hundrad
og ég veit ekki hvad
Uppi hann stig ég
á ástarvangjum flígeg
uppi Mosfellssveit fer í ævintyraleit
Med hand tösku stora ég hallast ad Dóri
É gormurinn i framsaetinu stakk mig á versa stad!
En thad er nú svona ad threyja og vona
En thetta lagast fljott
Dóri minn sérrum thad
Kedjan er slitinn og skellur í bilnum
skríddu undur bilinn Dóri
greyid mitt flyttu ther
Ertu alveg ódur ó jé minn gódur!
Tharna reifstu sokkinn minn
álfurinn minn ég fer aldrey
aftur út med thér aleinum
Ég sver i ég hef aldrey á æfi minni
Ekid um á slikum bil
O núna springur í honum syngur!
Og a endanum stingst hann ofaní
moldar-haug
The lyrics to Björk's song "Bílavísur" are in Icelandic, so the following interpretation is based on translation:
The song seems to start with a question, asking if someone is coming. The response indicates a fondness for this person and how clean and fresh everything feels now. There is a mention of a "new interval," which could refer to a new phase or stage in their relationship.
The following lines express admiration for this person, describing them as beautiful and wanting them to offer something. It emphasizes how perfectly they fit the style and aesthetic. The singer mentions that when it snows, there is enough charm and joy to last them both on their journey.
The song then introduces a person named Dóri, who is described as the singer's strong and great love. The lyrics imply that Dóri has control over their world, even if conditions are not ideal. The singer expresses excitement when Dóri appears, mentioning a Ford-Model car that they are unsure about.
The singer says they hop into Dóri's car and embark on an adventure in Mosfellssveit, a place of wonder and exploration. The lyrics mention a big handbag, implying the singer trusts and relies on Dóri.
However, there is a sudden turn of events, as the singer mentions something unexpected happening. It seems that a raven or a crow has attacked them while sitting in the car's front seat. They acknowledge that this is just a temporary setback and express confidence that it will be resolved quickly.
The lyrics indicate that the chain in the car is broken, and it hits the car floor. The singer asks Dóri to fix it and laments about their foolishness. They express frustration and wonder if Dóri is a bit foolish too.
Suddenly, the singer's sock tears and their elf (a metaphorical or mythical reference) is left behind. They promise to never let this kind of thing happen again, swearing on their life's experience.
In the end, they drive around in such a way that the car eventually crashes into a mound of earth. This implies a loss of control, chaos, or unexpected consequences.
Overall, the lyrics of "Bílavísur" seem to convey a whimsical and adventurous journey, with a focus on a relationship and the unexpected challenges that may arise.
