Grunge may not have yet become a universal language, but it's translated credibly enough for Montreal's Bliss (Colin Burnett, David Bryant, Michael Stevenson, Sylvain Bouthilliette), whose "Grafted to an Elbow" (1993) is 11 tracks of grinding post-melodic post-punk. Produced by Chicago rancor-rock godfather Steve Albini, "Grafted to an Elbow" is oblique yet vehement, its unease with contemporary society conveyed more by TV- damaged titles like "Nature's Gentle Regulator" than by the cryptic, fragmentary lyrics spit out by David Bryant (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Set Fires To Flames).

Well if I, could trace your private number, baby
All I know is that to me
You look like you're lots of fun
Open up your lovin' arms
I want some, want some
(And no one else will do)
And I, I've got to have my way now, baby
All I know is that to me
You look like you're having fun
Open up your lovin' arms
Watch out here I come
You spin me right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
Right round, round, round
You spin me right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
Right round, round, round
I, I got to be your friend now, baby
And I would like to move in just a little bit closer
All I know is that to me
You look like you're lots of fun
Open up your lovin' arms
Watch out, here I come
You spin me right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
Right round, round, round
You spin me right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
Right round, round, round
All I know is that to me
You look like you're lots of fun
Open up your lovin' arms
Watch out, here I come

The lyrics of Bliss's song You Spin Me Round are about a person who becomes infatuated with someone they find attractive. The first verse is about the singer's desire to know the person's name and trace their private number. The singer is willing to go to great lengths to reach out to the object of their affection. The next verse illustrates the singer's fixation on this particular person and how they will not settle for anyone else. The third verse is where the singer declares that they would like to become friends and move in a little closer. The chorus repeats the phrase "You spin me right round" multiple times, implying that the singer is feeling dizzy from their attraction to this person.
Overall, the lyrics describe the common theme of unrequited love and infatuation. The singer is smitten with someone they find incredibly attractive and irresistible, but it's unclear whether the feelings are mutual. The repetition of the chorus highlights the dizziness and emotional tumult that the singer is experiencing due to their infatuation. The desire to be closer to someone that is not clearly interested in them is a relatable feeling and is an underlying theme throughout the song.

QUÉ PADRE TEMA
@GeeGeeRuby
How did he cheat?
And no, you're totally wrong. He didnt lose his voice forever, in fact he still sings, and quite as stupendous as he's done in the 80's. Yes, for a while he couldnt sing for a certain amount of time due to his surgery crisis, but hey, he couldve died, whats your excuse?
@GeeGeeRuby
***** The way his face looks like now is not the way he intended it to look. You just have to do what you can with what you've got.
And frankly, before and after surgery, his face is no where near ugly, but what's your excuse?
@rickschweitzer9845
It's ok. But of all the covers of this wonderful song I'd have to say that Mind Shredders version is the best. RIP Pete.
@danielcasey2729
Cool shit it the best I herd I tell u something man I'm trying to learn this song too, I'm getting far. Respect for u, but today people like to cheat, so hoping u didn't, but your the one who has to live with being a cheater.
@anothersettlementneedsyour9628
This is p too close to the original. The point of cover is to make your version.
@danielcasey2729
And yes the singer of dead or alive lip singed live and he cheated. I think after his face stuff when he got sick. He lost his voice for ever. The voice is weak so if you get sick bad. Thier goes your voice. Anyway that's what I think. When he singed when he was at is best, he still cheated. Now I don't get that.
