Bloem's voice and musical style have been compared to Björk. Her music is mostly melodic although a couple of the songs on her album are quiet, just Bloem and her acoustic guitar. The album was produced by Pete Briquette, of Tricky fame. After her debut Bloem de Ligny virtually disappeared from the music scene, only to return in 2006 as Fono & Serafina, a duo with Ties van der Linden, releasing the dreamy trip hop album 'bathtub'.
Bloem is currently a member of Sam and the Womp, a British-Dutch group fronted by trumpeter Sam Ritchie. The group’s debut single "Bom Bom" was released as a digital download on 19 August 2012 and went to the No. 1 spot in the UK Singles Chart and has sold over a million copies worldwide.
Blue Nix
Bloem De Ligny Lyrics

And it has no end
I freeze it for now and I
Follow in blue
Nothing as gentle
Blue as an icecave,
Closer than ice
Colder than sorrow
More than you know,
I I want to believe it,
There is nothing as cold
Seven was closer
And it has no end
I freeze it for now and I
Follow in blue
Nothing as gentle
Blue as an icecave,
Closer than ice
Closer than ice
There is nothing as cold
As you and an icecave
I touch and you melt down
I touch and you melt down
I touch and you melt down
You don't even know it
How much I want to believe it
You, you, you are so wrong
You, you, you are so wrong
You, you, you are so wrong
Ice, ice, ice, ice, ice
The lyrics to Bloem De Ligny's song "Blue Nix" are deeply introspective and mystically ambiguous. The song is about a person who freezes time, represented by the number seven, and follows their memories in a blue, melancholic state. The lyrics are full of imagery meant to evoke feelings of sadness, nostalgia, and longing. The persona of the song seems to be searching for meaning in the cold, desolate feelings they are experiencing. The lyrics "nothing as gentle blue as an ice cave" is meant to bring forth the idea of an icy blue landscape, which is both gentle and cold at the same time.
The line "There is nothing as cold as you and an ice cave" suggests that the persona is referring to someone as cold as ice, someone who they have touched but who has melted down. The repetition of the phrase "you, you, you are so wrong" in the final stanza suggests that there is possibly a misunderstanding or conflict between two people. The song ends with the repeated word "ice," emphasizing the cold and desolate emotions the persona is feeling.
Overall, "Blue Nix" is a powerful and haunting examination of sadness, longing, and the search for meaning. The lyrics suggest that the persona is feeling lost and disconnected from the world, unable to feel warmth or connection with others.

She only sounded like Bjork after the studio recorded here and... made her sound like Bjork. She sounds nothing like her live. I think she wasn't happy with it at all, from what I remember from all these years ago.
