Bloem's voice and musical style have been compared to Björk. Her music is mostly melodic although a couple of the songs on her album are quiet, just Bloem and her acoustic guitar. The album was produced by Pete Briquette, of Tricky fame. After her debut Bloem de Ligny virtually disappeared from the music scene, only to return in 2006 as Fono & Serafina, a duo with Ties van der Linden, releasing the dreamy trip hop album 'bathtub'.
Bloem is currently a member of Sam and the Womp, a British-Dutch group fronted by trumpeter Sam Ritchie. The group’s debut single "Bom Bom" was released as a digital download on 19 August 2012 and went to the No. 1 spot in the UK Singles Chart and has sold over a million copies worldwide.
Twinky
Bloem De Ligny Lyrics

I've got a lot under my shoes
Like pencils and cartridge and money
And dracula, dracula
I'm getting undressed
And taking pictures of you
In my head
I'm walking in my bare feet
I'm walking though nails and spoons and
I'm too naked, I'm too naked
I'm too naked, I'm too naked
I'm too
Solve up eyes
Wind rush through you
I'm getting undressed
And taking pictures of you
In my head
In confeculation
I'm walking with my bare feet
I'm walking though nails and spoons and
I'm too naked, I'm too naked
I'm too naked, I'm too naked
I'm too
I'm too naked, I'm too naked
It's me naked
I'm too naked, too naked
I'm too naked, too naked
I'm too naked, too naked
I'm too naked, I'm too naked
I'm too naked
The lyrics to Bloem De Ligny's song "Twinky" are open to interpretation due to their abstract nature, but they evoke a sense of vulnerability and discomfort. The repeated refrain of "I'm too naked" suggests a feeling of being exposed or vulnerable, while the verses describe surreal scenes that are difficult to pin down. The line "I've got a lot under my shoes" is particularly intriguing, as it could be taken literally or figuratively. It could suggest that the singer is carrying a heavy load, or that they have secrets or hidden depths.
The line "taking pictures of you in my head" could suggest a feeling of objectification or surveillance, as if the singer is observing someone without their knowledge or consent. The repeated mention of nails and spoons is also curious, as they are both mundane objects that could be interpreted in various ways. Nails could represent pain or discomfort, while spoons could suggest nourishment or comfort. The mention of Dracula is perhaps the most straightforward image in the song, as it has a clear association with darkness and danger.
Overall, "Twinky" is a mysterious and evocative song that leaves a lot to the listener's imagination. The lyrics suggest a sense of unease and vulnerability, but the precise nature of those feelings is left open to interpretation.
