400 Years
Bob Marley Lyrics

Four hundred years (four hundred years, four hundred years, wo oh oh oh)
And it's the same, the same (wo-o-o-o) philosophy
I've said it's four hundred years (four hundred years, four hundred years, wo oh oh oh)
Look, how long (wo oh oh oh)
And the people they (wo oh oh oh) still can't see
Why do they fight against the poor youth of today?
And without these youths, they would be gone
All gone astray

Come on, let's make a move (make a move, make a move, wo oh oh oh)
I can see time (wo oh oh oh), time has come
And if-a fools don't see (fools don't see, fools don't see, wo oh oh oh)
I can't save the youth
The youth is gonna be strong
So, won't you come with me (come with me)
I'll take you to a land of liberty
Where we can live (we can live), live a good, good life and be free

Look how long, four hundred years (four hundred years, four hundred years)
Way too long! (Wo oh oh oh)
That's the reason my people (wo oh oh oh), my people can't see
Said, it's four hundred long years (four hundred years, four hundred years, wo oh oh oh)
Give me patience (wo-o-o-o), same philosophy

It's been four hundred years (four hundred years, four hundred years)
Wait so long! Wo oh oh oh, wo oh oh oh
How long, four hundred (four hundred years, four hundred years) long, long years
People hiding from reality

Gotta give credit to the guy who sings (and composed) this one, Peter Tosh. Amazing voice, the biggest talent from The Wailers in my opinion.

Mahsum Jajah

He is the best 👌, you are right ✅️ ❤️, the best are always denied by the society untill they die

Bradley Harris

@Sean Devlin what??? He is a founding member. He and bunny started the wailers then found Peter. They were just "the wailers" for years and Island Records turned the name into "Bob Marley and The Wailers"

Sean Devlin

@Bradley Harris I'm not sure Bob Marley is in the Wailers.

Peter is definitely underrated, I wouldn't go as far as saying he is more talented than Bob Marley though. Bob was a human composition book

Always liked this song, even before I learned the words. These guys had such a kickass sound, the early stuff has a nice scratchiness about it, love it

Amazing song that brings back alot of great memories..my dad had an old hunting camp with an old silver bullet trailer..and my buddies and I went up there ,all the time... it was a dump.. but in beautiful place.. I found this tape(cassette there one night ,and we played it over and again thru the night....many nights.. we used to go up all the time .. me and my buddies, we were like brothers... 97-2003 we went up to camp ALL THE TIME ... had the times of our lives.. sadly , I kept the party going ,(unlike them, I got into hard drugs) back in rochester , and I got addicted to heroin in 2005... I lost relationships with people I love, here we are 20 years later, and I close my eyes listening to that song, and it makes me very emotional... that song will always mean alot to me...and hey joe by hendrix... had that tape up there too... it's amazing how music can imprints memories in your mind...
