Good Man
Bocafloja Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Bobby Dylan wrote a track of assassination of Medgar Evers
Callin′ it a pawn in the game now check the reference
Now tell me what it mean to you, cuz what it mean to me
Its about a legacy of white supremacy
From the klansmen to minutemen, from the noose and tree to a lock and key
I call it the evolution of laws and policy's
Racism is classism when it accessorize
Ann Frank ain′t the only one whose people suffered genocide
Bobby Marley wrote a track buffalo soldiers headed west
Fighting for the u.s. segregated regiments
Very clear to me whose destiny it helped to manifest
Who the rich kids and whose kids is bloods and crips
So if the two jobs, or the jobs lost, or the health problems passed on
And you don't fit the description pigs patrolling the block
And you don't fit the equations problems they wanna solve
End up like the wife of Fred Hampton now homie sing along

(Bocafloja)

Overall Meaning

In Bocafloja's song "Good Man", the lyrics discuss the issues of racism, classism and marginalization, drawing attention to the history of oppression faced by people of color. The artist references two iconic figures in music, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, who wrote tracks that dealt with similar themes. For example, "Assassination of Medgar Evers" by Dylan discusses the murder of the civil rights leader as a pawn in the game, emphasizing the systematic oppression and violence used to maintain white supremacy. Similarly, Marley's "Buffalo Soldiers" talks about the African American soldiers who fought for the US in various wars, despite facing segregation and discrimination.

Bocafloja further emphasizes the different forms of oppression that continue to exist in society, with references to the Ku Klux Klan, the Minutemen, and the legacy of genocide suffered by groups like the Jews during World War II. The song also alludes to the impact of unequal access to resources and opportunities, mentioning the role of rich kids and the link between poverty and gangs. The lyrics highlight the need for systemic change that addresses these issues, rather than relying on superficial solutions that ignore the root causes of inequality.

@neurocolor

¡Gran track!

@rootube77

Saludos.

@ameniaco

Saludos!
