Winter In July
Bomb the Bass Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Look around
Wonder why,
We could live a life that's never satisfied

Lonely hearts
Troubled minds,
Looking for a way that we could never find
Many roads are ahead of us
With choices to be made,
For life's just one of the games we play
There is no special way

[Chorus]
Make the best of whats given you,
Everything will come in time.
Why deny yourself,
Don't just left life pass you by
Like winter in July

Future dreams,
Can never last
When you find yourself still livin' in the past

Keep moving on,
To higher ground
Looking for the way you thought could not be found

We might not know the reason why,
We're born into this world
We're a man only lives to die,
His story still untold

[Chorus]

And we might not know the reason why,
We're born into this world
We're a man only lives to die,
And his story still untold

So

[Chorus]

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Bomb the Bass's song "Winter In July" bring to light the common struggles that human beings go through in their lives. The first verse begins by reflecting a sense of confusion and dissatisfaction with life. The next line immediately points out the feeling of loneliness and trouble that afflict people. Despite everyone's best efforts to find a way out of these problems, they remain unsatisfied with their efforts.

The second verse emphasizes the importance of moving forward in life, chalking up past mistakes and dreaming of a better future. Hope is the key element here - the lyrics suggest that people often get trapped in a cycle of negative thinking and fail to see the power they have to change situations. However, the song acknowledges that life is a complex game with no specific way forward, and that inner fulfillment is still possible by taking advantage of the opportunities that come one's way.

The chorus emphasizes a sense of optimism, encouraging listeners to "make the best of what's given" and that everything in life will eventually come with time. The last stanza conveys the idea that human beings do not have answers to everything and that ultimately, they are mortal beings who will die one day. However, there is always the possibility of getting a new start in life and becoming the best version of oneself.

I remember i heard this song for the first time during our first cartrip to Italy, i was 7 yrs old, we were driving through the epic mountain scenery of Switzerland and i experienced a natural high. No one could help me find the song afterwards, for many many years ahead..till 2004, i found it. And i'm listening to it today with tears in my eyes..i am 39 now. With two kids.
