Dikamba kiá mbote
A ngui xissa oh enda
A ngui menekena
Nga sakidila.

C'est ça Remy Kolpa
C'est ça mon copain, ouai
Muxima yonene
Ngolo banza ngó
Kalakala kia vulu
Lelu a tu xissa-kiá

C'est ça Remy Kolpa
C'est ça mon copain, ouai

A zuela kia uaba
A soneka kiá mbote
Kamba diami dia muxima
A n'gui xissa oh enda

C'est ça Remy Kolpa
C'est ça mon copain, ouai

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Bonga's song "Banza Rémy" convey a sense of deep emotion and introspection. The opening lines, "Dikamba kiá mbote, A ngui xissa oh enda, A ngui menekena, Nga sakidila," can be interpreted as the artist reflecting on past experiences and expressing a feeling of longing and regret. "Dikamba kiá mbote" translates to "words of the morning," indicating a reflection on the dawn of a new day or a fresh start. The repetition of "A ngui xissa oh enda" implies a desire to move forward and leave behind negative experiences or emotions. The line "A ngui menekena" could be seen as an acknowledgement of personal growth and the ability to learn from past mistakes.

The chorus, consisting of the lines "C'est ça Remy Kolpa, C'est ça mon copain, ouai," can be interpreted as a reaffirmation of self-identity and a sense of camaraderie. "Remy Kolpa" may be a reference to a specific individual or simply a symbolic representation of the artist's true self. The repetition of "C'est ça, mon copain" reinforces the theme of self-acceptance and self-support.

The verses that follow continue in a similar introspective and emotional vein. The line "Muxima yonene, Ngolo banza ngó" evokes a sense of profound sadness or heartbreak, with "muxima" meaning heart or soul and "banza" suggesting a negative or desolate state. The phrase "Kalakala kia vulu" suggests a feeling of vulnerability or a fragile state of mind.

In summary, "Banza Rémy" by Bonga delves into themes of reflection, personal growth, and emotional vulnerability. It explores the artist's journey towards self-acceptance and highlights the importance of leaving behind negativity and embracing one's true identity.

In this song, Bonga make a tribute to Rémy Kolpa Kopoul, a french radioman who early promote Bonga in international scène, and RKK died last year in his beatifull city of Brest, Bretagne, and so Bonga made this song.
