A lot of these niggas ain't ready ta be no gangsta
So my word of advice to y'all niggas, chill out
Nobody hate me cause they love me.
They know I'm thuggin'
I ain't backin' down from nothin'
I ain't stuntin' (patna).
Cross the trap we fifty deep how the thugs greet.
Bein niggas from fat, skinny,
Ta thin niggas chill out for you be up in that jail house
Mamas ain't bring us up to be no gangstas,
The hood got us all with anger hood got us all in pain.
Niggas throwed on every coner bottle after bottle,
Another kidney gettin' weak, from every swallow.
Thought he was gon' kill one when he bust that choppa.
He let it off and killed wohty, and all his patnas.
Now he locked up in a 6 man cell (gettin' fucked).
When he touch down he a straight up gal.
Wan be a husla ain't even got no street since.
You don't deserve it anyway.
Ain't from that dirty anyway
It's to late to be the dope man (chill out)
Hoes love you till you broke man (chill out)
Watch ya friends real close man (chill out)
They give you life up in court lil' nigga chill out
In “Chill Out,” Lil Boosie advises his listeners to take a break and calm down as they try to pursue the gangsta life, most of them not ready for it. In the intro, he acknowledges that few of these individuals even know why they want to be in such an environment. He goes ahead to describe the streets as a dangerous place where everyone is hurting, and the act of violence is normalized. Boosie, however, admits that he enjoys his life as a thug without any intentions of backing down, but that is not for everyone. He encourages young men to continue with their hustle instead of trying to fit the gangsta character that is portrayed in the streets.
In the following verses, Boosie acknowledges that many individuals who end up in jail or dead got there because they wanted to prove themselves as gangsters. He gives an example of a guy who killed an innocent bystander while trying to shoot someone else ending up in jail, where he was beaten up and sexually assaulted. Boosie, therefore, tells everyone that it is not worth it, advising them to “chill out” and focus on building a future that is not compromised by their lifestyle.
Overall, Chill Out is an inspiring story that encourages the youth not to fall into the traps of the streets. It sheds light on the futility of people trying to fit in a world that only leads to death or jail. Boosie's advice is that individuals should work hard, focus on their hustle and build a future worth living.
