1) Suzannah Powell (born August 16, 1988) is an American rapper, songwriter, producer, and performance artist, best known by her stage name Boyfriend. Raised in Nashville, she found her rap persona upon moving to New Orleans. Boyfriend coined the term “rap-cabaret,” a nod to the emphasis on performance in her music. Described as a "mile-a-minute rhyme-spitter; a bawdy, brassy performance artist and a feminist provocateur," her rhymes address subjects including sex, feminism, gender and empowerment with 'bracingly blue, carefully crafted, comic turns of phrase."
