Seen It All Before
Bring Me the Horizon Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Every second's soaked in sadness
Every weekend is a war
And I'm drowning in the déjà vu
We've seen it all before

I don't wanna do this by myself
I don't wanna live like a broken record
I've heard these lines a thousand times
And I've seen it all before

Are we close enough?
There is something I must confide
I think we've lost our touch
There's no sparkle in those eyes

What an awful mess I've made
There's nothing left to save

Every second's soaked in sadness
Every weekend is a war
And I'm drowning in the déjà vu
We've seen it all before

I don't wanna do this by myself
I don't wanna live like a broken record
I've heard these lines a thousand times
And I've seen it all before

There's nothing in the air tonight, nothing in the air tonight
There's nothing in the air tonight
There's nothing in the air tonight

Every second's soaked in sadness
Every weekend there's a war
And I'm drowning in the déjà vu
We've seen it all before

I don't wanna do this by myself
I don't wanna live like a broken record
I've heard these lines a thousand times
And I've seen it all before

I'm sorry, love it's not enough
We shouldn't feel the love so painfully
It hurts right to the touch
I know it stings, I know this cuts
And I wish I could agree with you
But fuck this love, it's not enough

It's not enough
It's not enough

Overall Meaning

In the song "Seen It All Before" by Bring Me the Horizon, the lyrics express a feeling of repetitiveness and boredom in a relationship that seems to be going nowhere. The singer is tired of every moment being filled with sadness and every weekend turning into a war. He feels like he's drowning in déjà vu because they've been through these same patterns before. He doesn't want to continue living like they're stuck on repeat, like a broken record, and it seems as if he's trying to communicate this feeling with his partner. He wonders if they're close enough to confide in each other but acknowledges that he feels like they've lost their spark.

The lyrics of the song suggest that the singer is experiencing a sense of frustration and hopelessness because he feels like the relationship is not going anywhere. He apologizes for not being enough and for the painful love they're experiencing. He acknowledges that he wishes he could agree with his partner, but the love they have is simply not enough to make things work. The song's title, "Seen It All Before," suggests that both parties in the relationship have been through this same cycle and that they are both tired of it.

I consider Sempiternal to be probably the best album I've hear, simply because there are no weak song on the album whatsoever, all of them have a meaning to me personally and (honestly) I couldn't care what everyone else thinks of BMTH, their music, their image etc, they are one of if not the top band of this generation

yr joking right? Count Your Blessings is far and away their worst album. the lyrics are (and i hate using this term but they’re) cringe and juvenile, the sound quality’s pretty bad, Oli’s vocals are meh, the guitar work is pretty good but they’re grating to listen to with how awfully they’re clipping in the mix. and for some reason, all 10 songs (even 15 Fathoms) are in drop-B tuning, making all 9 deathcore songs literally sound almost the same. the band themselves even admitted years later that they weren’t taking themselves seriously, and rushed a lot of the album. i’m all for deathcore, but CYB is not good deathcore. even their more raw, abrasive, immature EP Edge of Your Seat makes for a more entertaining listen, at least it sounds like they’re trying on that one.

BMTH’s deathcore/metalcore sound was expanded upon and pleasantly improved on with Suicide Season, with slightly less juvenile lyrics and pleasant mastering, more varied production, and much better sound quality, and even that has a few meh songs (remember, i said SLIGHTLY less juvenile lyrics) but at least on SS they’re (kinda) kept to a minimum.

Eu você E O ZUBUMAFU!

@mad maddie I think there isn't enough immersion, there aren't too much guitar effects. I don't like the chorus also, the screams sound bad delivered, but that's only my opinion

mad maddie

@Eu você E O ZUBUMAFU! wait what's wrong with join the club. I know it's an old comment but could you give some arguments at least and not like "shitty song coz I said it"
