Don't look into my eyes for comfort
I'll make sure nothing's left
You've never seen anything as evil
I can see the strength within your eyes
But I know you've got death upon your lips
Feel the venom from our tongues
I, the demon
I will show you how to lose control
Rip through the mask reveal a face you've never known
Take from you the time you stole
All I'm owed, you must know
Get up and show me what you think you've learned
I can tell right now you've never been burned
Or ripped apart at the seams, I'll show you disease
The serpent's scales don't weigh in your favour
There's no forgiveness, there is no saviour
Sentenced to the sickness
I will show you how to lose control
Rip through the mask reveal a face you've never known
Take from you the time you stole
All I'm owed, you must know
Enemies of disease
Enemies
Enemies of disease
Enemies
So you think that you're a king amongst men?
Once removed of crown, you'll never rule again
This is our bloodline
Risen from the depth
We have bled enough times, drained
There's nothing left
This is our bloodline
We have bled enough times
The lyrics to Bury Tomorrow's song "Bloodline" convey a dark and sinister narrative, exploring themes of power, control, and vengeance. The song starts off with a chilling invitation into a dangerous and treacherous world, referred to as the "viper's nest." The singer warns against seeking comfort in their gaze, as they will ensure nothing is left of their victim. They claim to possess an immense evil, something never witnessed before.
The second verse speaks of the singer's ability to see strength in their victim's eyes but also acknowledges the presence of death on their lips. The venomous words that they speak create a sick and destructive atmosphere. They identify themselves as a demon, suggesting a malevolent and mischievous force.
The chorus highlights the singer's intention to teach their victim how to lose control and strip away the façade they present to the world. They seek to take back the time their victim has stolen, demanding what they are owed. The lyrics depict a ruthless and merciless attitude towards their target, showing no mercy or forgiveness.
The bridge of the song portrays the singer's disdain for their victim, emphasizing that they do not possess the qualities that would benefit them. It implies a lack of salvation and redemption, suggesting that the victim is doomed as they are sentenced to this sickness created by the singer.
Towards the end of the song, the lyrics shift to a confrontational tone, challenging the victim's perception of themselves. The singer questions their beliefs of being superior to others, asserting that once their crown is taken away, they will never rule again. This line denotes a loss of power and authority.
Overall, "Bloodline" delves into a dark and unyielding realm, illustrating the themes of power, control, and revenge. The lyrics depict a character consumed by evil, seeking to teach their victim a harsh lesson and reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs.
