When the cracks began to show
I guess I fell so
I guess I fell so lost in the crowd
Not wanting to be found
We have to rise above
I just have to
I just have to
Hail no hero, fear no evil
So this is how I become
A man, alone, set free
The only way to survive
Integrity
The path I've walked down is one of uncertainty
So now the burden has gone I can believe
Just let it all go
See what I have seen
Believe, believe
Feel what I have felt
Believe
I have seen the depths of misery
Just one more year of this?
I don't think so, I don't think so
So I'll pass on the torch and I free myself from chains
I hope you can, I hope you can
Hail no hero, fear no evil
So this is how I become
A man, alone, set free
The only way to survive
Integrity
The path I've walked down is one of uncertainty
So now the burden has gone I can believe
I can believe
So take your cross back
And free me from the burden
So weightless I am lifted
And I'll let you feel your body sink
So take your cross back
And free me from the burden
So weightless I am lifted
And I'll let you feel your body sink
So this is how I become
A man, alone, set free
The only way to survive
Integrity
The path I've walked down is one of uncertainty
So now the burden has gone I can believe
"The Burden" by Bury Tomorrow reflects the journey of self-discovery and liberation from the constraints of societal expectations and personal struggle. The lyrics convey the realization of being lost in the crowd, feeling invisible and disconnected from one's true self. The singer acknowledges their own fallibility, admitting that they should have been the first to recognize the cracks in their facade.
The chorus, "Hail no hero, fear no evil," signifies a defiance against conforming to societal norms and choosing to no longer be burdened by the opinions and expectations of others. The singer decides to embrace their individuality and finds solace in solitude, ultimately setting themselves free. They discover that the only way to survive and retain their integrity is by staying true to their own path, despite the uncertainty it may bring.
As the burden is lifted, the singer encourages others to follow suit and break free from their own chains. They express hope that others will find the strength to liberate themselves and no longer be weighed down by the expectations and burdens placed upon them. The song concludes with a sense of empowerment and belief in a brighter future now that the burden has been relinquished.

I should've been first to know
I should have been the first one to realize
When the cracks began to show
When the signs of trouble started becoming apparent
I guess I fell so
I suppose I became so
I guess I fell so lost in the crowd
I became so lost and unnoticed among everyone else
Not wanting to be found
Not desiring to be discovered or recognized
We have to rise above
We must elevate ourselves
I just have to
I simply must
Hail no hero, fear no evil
Praise no hero, have no fear of evil
So this is how I become
Thus, this is how I transform into
A man, alone, set free
An independent man, liberated from constraints
The only way to survive
The singular method to endure
Integrity
Maintaining honesty and moral principles
The path I've walked down is one of uncertainty
The journey I have taken is marked by unpredictability
So now the burden has gone I can believe
Now that the heavy weight is gone, I can have faith
Just let it all go
Simply release everything
See what I have seen
Witness what I have witnessed
Believe, believe
Have faith, have faith
Feel what I have felt
Experience what I have experienced
Believe
Have faith
I have seen the depths of misery
I have witnessed extreme suffering
Just one more year of this?
Only one more year of enduring this?
I don't think so, I don't think so
I don't believe so, I don't believe so
So I'll pass on the torch and I free myself from chains
Therefore, I will hand over responsibility and liberate myself from restrictions
I hope you can, I hope you can
I hope you are able to, I hope you are able to
So take your cross back
Retrieve your burdensome responsibility
And free me from the burden
And release me from the weight
So weightless I am lifted
So without burden, I am elevated
And I'll let you feel your body sink
And I will allow you to experience the sensation of sinking
So now the burden has gone I can believe
Now that the weight has disappeared, I can have faith
I can believe
I can have faith
