Repair The Lining
Bury Tomorrow Lyrics

I've taken all the time I need
To show, what you really mean
So sit here with me
In a bid that we will be set free
I've taken all the time to set you free
And I'll stand with you here for, for a chance for you to be free
And I fucking see
I know it's hard
I know it's hard I know it's hard to love to love to love again
I know it's hard
Three years today
I've fought this war, three fucking years
I've fought this war, I've fought this war
Ooh, I've watched you fail, I've fought this war
I know it's hard to fight again
And I fucking see
I know it's hard
I know it's hard I know it's hard to love to love to love again
I know it's hard
I think you know
I've seen the light
Shining through crimson skies bless this
I've seen the light
Shining through crimson skies
Bless this
The lyrics to Bury Tomorrow's song Repair The Lining are an emotional and introspective reflection on a relationship that has been challenged by the test of time. The singer feels that he has "damned" himself by investing all of his time and energy into trying to repair the broken relationship. He acknowledges the difficulty of the situation and empathizes with his partner who is struggling to love again. In spite of the challenges, the singer vows to stand by his partner and offer support in the hope that they can both find freedom.
The song opens with a somber melody that echoes the singer's sense of regret and sadness. It is clear that this is not a new struggle as the singer reflects on "three fucking years" of fighting this war. The weight of this experience has taken a toll but the singer seems determined to keep fighting. The lyrics express a resolve to find hope in the midst of pain and to keep moving forward even when it feels impossible. The repeated phrase "I know it's hard to love to love to love again" brings the focus back to the central challenge of the relationship - the struggle to rebuild trust and affection after it has been broken.
The final lines of the song offer a glimmer of hope as the singer refers to "crimson skies" and asks for a blessing. Perhaps this is a sign that the relationship can be repaired and restored after all. Overall, the lyrics to Repair The Lining are a touching reminder that love is not always easy but it is worth fighting for.
