Monster
Carach Angren Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's not enough to be monstered by your look
Disfigured, maimed, malformed or crooked
Those wicked wretched and mangled from within
Yeah, they deserve the title for their filthy rotten sins

Monster
Monster
I'm a monster
A sick perverted psychopath
Evil, hideous
An ill-natured maniac

I won't exactly scare you from underneath the bed
I will torture, rape and dissect you
And I will not stop, even in death

Monster, ah, yes
Monster
You're a monster
A sick deranged creep
Grotesque, twisted
Miscreated fiend

Leviathan
Colossus

Demoniacal
Monster

Overall Meaning

In the lyrics to Carach Angren's song "Monster," the band delves into the dark and disturbing depths of human nature, exploring the concept of monstrosity in a metaphorical sense. The opening lines convey that simply being physically grotesque or deformed is not enough to truly be considered a monster. The band suggests that true monstrosity lies in the wickedness and depravity that resides within a person, manifested through their vile and sinful actions.

The repetition of the word "Monster" throughout the lyrics emphasizes the central theme of the song, highlighting the singer's acknowledgment and possibly acceptance of their own monstrous nature. The use of intense imagery, such as being a "sick perverted psychopath" and an "ill-natured maniac," further emphasizes the sinister and malevolent qualities that the singer embodies. The lyrics depict a sense of self-awareness and a chilling lack of remorse for their actions.

The singer in the song describes their capability for extreme and brutal violence, stating that they won't merely scare their victims from under the bed, but will instead engage in torturous and sadistic behavior, even continuing their brutality beyond death. This imagery paints a disturbing picture of a character who revels in causing pain and suffering, embodying the epitome of evil and monstrosity.

The inclusion of terms like "Leviathan," "Colossus," and "Demoniacal" in the closing lines further heightens the aura of darkness and malevolence surrounding the character. These words evoke a sense of immense, otherworldly evil, adding to the overall sinister and macabre atmosphere of the song. Ultimately, Carach Angren's "Monster" delves deep into the twisted psyche of a character consumed by their own monstrous nature, delving into themes of depravity, violence, and the darkness that lurks within the human soul.

Sounds like they're evolving a bit into a slightly new sound.Shades of 'Machine' at the intro then blends perfectly into Carach sound while having the new 'evolving' vibe.Epic sounding , I love it.And I think it will be a great song to play when the kids show up at my door on Halloween. 😁👍🖤

To put a discrete loudspeaker outside and only open when the phrase "I am a monster" is spoken, with the whole room completely dark. The thing I most look forward to with having a house is scaring trick or treaters, so this would be very useful
