The lyrics of Catherine Lara's song Avec Le Temps (With Time) tell a story of endurance, resilience, and determination in the face of the passing of time. The song encourages the listener to embrace the passage of time but also to heed its warning signs. The opening lines "Marche dans le temps" (Walk in time) suggest that we should not be afraid of time but rather walk with it, accepting its inevitability.
The verse then goes on to encourage the listener to pay attention to the world around them, to "regarder le vent" (watch the wind) and to "écouter le rythme du temps" (listen to the rhythm of time). These lines suggest that by being aware of the changes in nature around us, we can better understand and appreciate the passage of time and the seasons of life.
The chorus, with the repetition of the line "Au soleil levant" (At sunrise), implies a sense of hope and new beginnings, with the sun rising on a new day. The verse "Marche dans le rang" (Walk in line) suggests conformity and adherence to rules, but then immediately encourages the listener to "écouter le rythme du temps" (listen to the rhythm of time) again.
The final verse speaks of the "sun setting" and the determination to keep moving forward, "Je marcherai toujours droit devant" (I will always walk straight ahead), symbolizing the acceptance of the end of a season and the hope for a new one.
