Welcome to the End
Celldweller Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

"Welcome home," she said to me,
"Let's hide away before they see
I need so much to be alone with you, I do, I do
Come with me," She took my hand
"Please try to help me understand"
So pointless when my heart has turned to stone
"I know, I know"
I wish I didn't need you now
And I wish I didn't need you now
And I wish I didn't need you now
I need you now, I need you now

"I wish we could," she whispered near
"Go someplace far away from here."

While hoping that small voice would
Disappear that said, "Welcome to the end"

Overall Meaning

In Celldweller's song Welcome To The End, the lyrics describe a situation where the singer is met by a woman who tells him "Welcome home." She quickly follows up by telling him that they need to hide away before anyone sees them. She expresses how she needs to be alone with him, and asks him to help her understand what she's going through. She talks about how her heart has turned to stone, but seems to already know that he understands her situation.

The singer then expresses how he wishes he didn't need her now, but can't help how he feels. She whispers to him about wanting to go somewhere else, far away from where they are, but the small voice inside her head saying "Welcome to the end" won't go away. These lyrics describe a sense of danger, a feeling that they must hide away from people who might judge them. It also hints at a somewhat toxic relationship where both parties can't help but need each other, but also can't help but wish things were different.

This is a kind of a song they should put at the end of a videogame when you beat it

@dexxed674

It is an ending song for a 3D NSFW hentai though. But the remix version was used. 😆

Me and my wife now, girlfriend then, use to listen to this song together and just disappear in each other's eyes. Good memories. That was 15 years ago lol. Man where did time go.

I'm not sure, but If I could it back I would. Been listening to this song for well over 10 ten years. Takes me back but also makes me realize that there's still something ahead.

*If I could get it back I would.
Apparently YouTube on mobile doesn't like people and stops us fixing edits that make us look like we don't know how to spell or say words. Yay them.

I love how Wish Upon A Blackstar and this album has these ending songs. It's a really nice musical journey you've embarked on, and these songs wrap up the album in a great way.

God, it's such a strange feeling this song gives off. loss, pain, love, acceptance.

People always see this as a breakup song, or a song about cheating. I like to think of it as an expansion on the themes in "frozen". Where it's not about a real relationship, but the fantasy of one. The singer feels so alone like a drifter in an ocean that he thinks up a woman that would be perfect for him. But he knows the fantasy isn't real and deep down he wishes for something real "I wish I didn't need you now". But he also wishes he didn't know that. That he could just forget about "that small voice" that tells him its not real.

Of course I can't say I know what's going on in Klayton's mind. I could also be just projecting. :)
