Voces
Chambao Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Que los ignoran en barrios marginales
Rodeaos de pobreza, dolor y sufrimiento
Que los excluyen, condenan al silencio
Alzar la voz por la justicia
Voces, voces, voces
Voces, voces, voces
Alzar la voz por la justicia voces
La educación, la alimentación
Se pueden hacer muchas cosas
La explotación, la marginación
Se pueden hacer muchas cosas
Yo quiero hoy denunciar
Que se pueden hacer muchas cosas
Por favor levántate y ayuda
Se pueden hacer muchas cosas
The lyrics to Chambao's song "Voces" speaks to the marginalization and exclusion of certain communities from society. The opening lines state that these communities "malviven," meaning they barely survive, surrounded by poverty, pain, and suffering. These communities are ignored and silenced by society, and the song calls for raising voices for justice. The chorus emphasizes the need to raise voices and take action for justice.
The song then shifts to a focus on working towards a better future for the next generation, especially for children. The lyrics call for working towards a clean world for children and sensibilizing ourselves from being "embrutecidos," which means becoming brutish or lacking in sensitivity. The image of seeing a child grow up in a safe place is used to emphasize the importance of creating a better world for children.
The song ends on a note of hope, stating that there are many things that can be done to address issues such as education, food, exploitation, and marginalization. The lyrics urge listeners to get up, help, and take action.
Overall, the song is a call for justice and action in the face of exclusion, poverty, and marginalization.
