@@dulmartovar2701 Well Rohan is based on the Anglo Saxons the songs lyrics are in Anglo Saxon and of course Tolkien was the Professor of English Laguage and literature at Oxford. it's no wonder the Chance Thomas music is biased. :)

@@Nighthawkwr200 GW2 has one of the dullest and most out of places OSTs of any mmorpgs I've played. WoW is good, but they use the Anduin's theme motif in literally everything to the point where it gets annoying. Lotro's OSTs are fantastic and I can say that I like them the best, or at least just as much as I like WoW's.

@@Nighthawkwr200 Gw2 and WoW music is extremely generic and studio made. Not actual orchestral like the Chance soundtrack for the base game, Moria and Rohan. LOTRO's Helms Deep music is in-house and like Isengard, very pale compared to what Chance did.

this song was the opening for the old lotro patcher. it was so epic that everytime when i did stop playing lotro for a while when i did come back this music did actually make me want to never stop playing the game anymore. so sad they took it out from the patch... so sad...

If orchestral music was ever an Olympic event then Chance Thomas should surely win gold !! Beautiful, powerful, inspiring music. As someone from England with a keen interest in Anglo-Saxon history and culture, I think it certainly has a great Anglo-Saxon feel to it, in reference to Chance's description I think he certainly "hit the mark" !

I am very late in getting to hear this. Lack of computer :P but anyway.....I looked up all the work on Rohan, all that the team is trying to acomplish for us in this new expansion. I read the description very slowly while I was listening to this amazing composition.....I very honestly got chills as I started to imagine my Rohan in my minds eye. it's an odd thing, this piece speaks to me of Rohan, but not of it's people, when I close my eyes I can see rolling plains and meadows and small towns with people going about their business. I can see horses running free on the plains. it's all very, very clear. that said, I don't see the Eored here, I don't see the Rohirrim riding their proud steeds. but that's ok, "learning to ride" balances this out nicely, my mind's eye is filled with visions of the Rohirrim charging in formation.

As much I love Chance's work, the medalist in Orchestral Olympic would be Howard Shore, Ennio Morricone and John WIlliams for me. If we are simply going based on video game composers, Nobuo Uematsu would win gold for me. His work in FFVI alone would give him gold, silver and bronze for me.

I haven't played in about a year either. But it feels like the game is gaining some momentum again with RoR so I'm coming back. This feels like one of the big expansions, as it should be. Isengard didn't interest me that much. I started playing back in the day mainly to see Middle-Earth come to life in the game and Rohan, Fangorn etc as place I really want to see. And mounted combat doesn't sound too bad either.

This is a bad translation, I have to appololgise for not looking too far, I actually looked up the Anglo Saxon/OE in a dictionary and I found.· We are strong, we are bold, we are Rohan we are free, We are strong, we are bold, we are Rohan riding out in /hope/glory (more likely glory) is not just a better translation it is the correct one. I'm sure no one cares in the slightest. For accuracy. :)
