Be Glorified
Chris Tomlin Lyrics

Your love has captured me
Your grace has set me free
Your life the air I breathe
Be glorified in me

Your love has captured me
Your grace has set me free
Your life the air I breathe
Be glorified in me

You set my feet to dancing, you set my heart on fire
In the presence of a thousand kings, you are my one desire
And I stand before you now with trembling hands lifted high
Be glorified

Your love has captured me
Your grace has set me free
Your life the air I breathe
Be glorified in me

Oh yeah you set my feet to dancing, you set my heart on fire
In the presence of a thousand kings, you are my one desire
And I stand before you now with trembling hands lifted high
Be glorified

Be glorified in me, be glorified in me
Be glorified in me, be glorified
Be glorified in me, be glorified in me
Be glorified in me, be glorified

You set my feet to dancing, you set my heart on fire
In the presence of a thousand kings, you are my one desire
And I stand before you now with trembling hands lifted high

Be glorified, be glorified
Be glorified, be glorified

DaGerminator "new" Guess it's always good to rediscover the classics.

This song should never be played in worship; Did it take three composers to write this? There is no story here; it's just a mix of cliches pieced together. How is God to be glorified in "me." The song gives us no clue. The music is something that a garage band could play. It's about time that the Christian community starts demanding more from our superstars.

@Charles Busada this a good song though

@Melissa Dene Melissa, is that what you get from "joyful noise"? . . . that God does not care? In order to be joyful, it needs to communicate something joyful. Worship in song is such a gift from our heavenly Father. We sing in joy, we sing in sorrow, and sometimes the Psalmist sings within his sorrow (the great promises of God) to end his psalm with joy. We sing because we are commanded to sing, and we are commanded to sing deep and thoughtful words. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God (Col 3:16). I think that when we connect the dots here we realize that our Joyful Noise is to contain true Joy. Sometimes, read the "new song" in Revelation 5:9ff for a real joyful noise. I think that God cares very much because the blood of his Son came at a rather high cost.

@Melissa Dene Dear Melissa, is that what you get from "joyful noise"? . . . that God does not care? Worship in song is such a gift from our heavenly Father. We sing in joy, we sing in sorrow. Sometimes the Psalmist sings within his sorrow (he sings the great promises of God) and by the end of the song, he is singing in joy. We sing because we are commanded to sing, and we are commanded to sing deep and thoughtful words. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. (Colossians 3:16). I think that when we connect the dots here we realize that our Joyful Noise has some prerequisites.

And God deeply cares about our worship. For one thing, he is our worship leader. Look at Hebrews 12:2 sometime. That verse declares that Jesus is in our midst every Sunday as we worship, and with us 12 He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.” Jesus is our worship leader and He cares.

Also, we should care. Our worship songs are sacrifices to God and David reminds us not to give a sacrifice that is of little, or no value. (1 Chron 21:24)
So, Melissa, God cares deeply about his glory. We, in this age, give God glory by walking in his way. This is nowhere implied in "Be Glorified." Rather the song uses the phrase as a hook, but it is vacuous in the context of the song. ... obviously in my never-so-humble opinion. :)

Charles Busada , the Word says, Make a joyful NOISE. If God doesn’t care, why should we? 😉
