Chris Tomlin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We're gonna dance in the river
We're gonna dance, dance
Everybody dance now
We're gonna dance in the river
We're gonna dance in the river
These lyrics from Chris Tomlin's song Dance in the River speak to the joy and liberation found in surrendering to God's love and grace. The imagery of dancing in a river evokes a sense of freedom and abandon, as if we are being swept away by the currents of God's love. The repetition of the line "We're gonna dance in the river" emphasizes the celebratory nature of this experience and invites us to join in the festivities.
The final line "Everybody dance now" adds to the sense of community and inclusivity, suggesting that this is not a solo dance but a celebration that we are all invited to participate in. This is reflective of the idea that our relationship with God is not just a private and personal experience, but one that is shared among believers and creates a sense of unity and fellowship.
Overall, the lyrics of Dance in the River are a beautiful expression of the joy, freedom, and community that come from surrendering ourselves to God's love and grace.
