In 2008, after five solo album releases, and nine with Passion, Tomlin made the move from Texas to Atlanta to be a worship leader for Giglio’s new church, Passion City Church, with its first service being held in February of 2009. Tomlin has since released four solo worship albums, two Christmas albums, and one live album.
In 2013, Tomlin’s seventh album Burning Light debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart, becoming only the fourth album by a Christian artist to top that chart, along with Butterfly Kisses (Shades of Grace) by Bob Carlisle, You Light Up My Life by LeeAnn Rimes, both in 1997, and TobyMac's Eye On It in 2012.
Tomlin has recorded some of the most famous songs ever in Christian music, such as How Great Is Our God, Holy Is The Lord, Our God, and Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)
Throughout his successful career, Tomlin has won 22 GMA Dove Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, and a Grammy.

Endless worship to Your name
God of power, kindness, righteousness
It is You, Jesus, this is You
Jesus, You are greater than the grave
Jesus, You have broken every chain
Forever You will reign
Jesus, this is You
Deep in wisdom, perfect peace
Author, master, majesty
God of power, kindness, righteousness
It is You, Jesus, this is You
It is You, Jesus, this is You
Jesus, You are greater than the grave
Jesus, You have broken every chain
Forever You will reign
Forever we will sing
Jesus, this is You
Hallelujah to the One who is able
Hallelujah, our God, Jesus, this is You
Hallelujah, praise the One who is faithful
Hallelujah, our God, Jesus, this is You
Jesus, You are greater than the grave
Jesus, You have broken every chain
Forever You will reign
Forever we will sing
Forever You will reign
Forever we will sing
Jesus, this is You (Jesus, You are greater than the grave)
This is You (Jesus, You have broken every chain)
Jesus, this is You
The lyrics of Chris Tomlin's song "Jesus This Is You" are a powerful tribute to the nature and character of Jesus Christ. The opening lines describe Him as "Rich in mercy, full of grace" and worthy of "endless worship." This sets the tone for the rest of the song, which goes on to extol Christ's wisdom, peace, power, and righteousness. The chorus repeats the phrase "Jesus, this is You" several times, reminding us that all of these incredible qualities belong to Him alone.
The second verse emphasizes Jesus' sovereignty and authority, calling Him the "Author, master, majesty." Despite His power, however, He is still described as kind and righteous, which speaks to His sacrificial love for humanity. The chorus repeats again, with the added refrain "Forever we will sing," a nod to the eternal nature of Christ's reign and the endless praise He deserves.
