Letissier has used numerous personal and stage names, and remarked that he "just ha many names for all the layers". He began his career as Christine and the Queens. For his second studio album, he shortened it to Chris, which was accompanied by a shift to a persona described as "a woman playing with masculine tropes". In October 2021, he was using the name Rahim. This sparked a debate around cultural appropriation due to the name's Arabic origin. He eventually began using a succession of different names such as Sam le pompier (the French title of Fireman Sam) and a full stop before settling on Redcar, sometimes shortened as Red. In August 2022, he updated his pronouns to he/him across social media platforms. In 2023, with the release of fourth album Paranoïa, Angels, True Love, he seemed to have reverted to simply Chris. However, he still occasionally uses his birth name, about which he said: "Héloïse Letissier is my parents' provenance and I love my parents. I sometimes use Héloïse to reconnect me to my childhood, but my inner child name is Manamané."

(We know)
(We know)
Tu voudrais l'arrêt total du monde
Quand tu t'en vas
Tu voudrais substance et le doute
Tout comme toi
Ce matin, je regardais le ciel et
Tu voudrais mordre sans conséquence
Je saigne déjà (je saigne déjà)
Je saigne déjà (je saigne déjà)
Je saigne déjà (je saigne déjà)
Pourrais-tu m'aimer?
Ah, yia, yia, yia
Ah, yia, yia, yia, yia
Ah, yia, yia, yia
Ah, yia, yia, yia, yia
Pourrais-tu m'aimer? (Dans les pleurs de l'autre)
Pourrais-tu m'aimer? (Dans la rivière de l'autre)
Pourrais-tu m'aimer? (Dans la mer de l'autre)
In Christine and the Queens's song "Je disparais dans tes bras," the lyrics describe a toxic and one-sided relationship where one partner feels used and unloved. The line "Tu voudrais l'arrêt total du monde" translates to "You want the complete stoppage of the world," which suggests that the partner wants to be the center of the other's universe and have complete control over them. The partner also desires "substance et le doute," meaning substance and doubt, which could imply that they want their partner to be honest but also uncertain of themselves. The lyrics "Tu voudrais mordre sans conséquence, Je saigne déjà" translate to "You would like to bite without consequence, I'm already bleeding," representing the pain and damage that the relationship causes.
The chorus questions whether the partner is capable of loving the singer fully and genuinely. The line "Quand tu prends que ce que tu veux de moi" translates to "When you take only what you want from me," which emphasizes the selfishness of the partner. And I disappear in your arms," suggesting that the singer feels like they are losing themselves in the relationship.
The second verse touches on the partner's inability to forgive others and their desire to use their partner's strength against them. The line "Tu crois gagner dans les pleurs de l'autre, La marque du roi" translates to "You believe you win in the other's tears, the mark of the king," hinting at emotional manipulation and control. The phrase "Ce torse est toi" meaning "This torso is yours" implies that the partner already owns and controls the singer's body.
Overall, "Je disparais dans tes bras" speaks to the struggles of a toxic and abusive relationship, questioning whether the partner is even capable of love.

Quel son ! Quel beat ! Quelle timbre !
