Chuck Berry remains an influential figure and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music who first began performing in 1953. Cub Koda wrote, "Of all the early breakthrough rock & roll artists, none is more important to the development of the music than Chuck Berry. He is its greatest songwriter, the main shaper of its instrumental voice, one of its greatest guitarists, and one of its greatest performers." John Lennon was more succinct: "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."
Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986. He received Kennedy Center Honors in 2000 in a "class" with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Plácido Domingo, Angela Lansbury, and Clint Eastwood. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Chuck Berry #5 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He was also ranked 6th on Rolling Stone's Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarists of All Time.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included three of Chuck Berry's songs (Johnny B. Goode, Maybellene, Rock & Roll Music), of the 500 songs that shaped Rock and Roll.
Chuck Berry held a special place, in terms of sound development, in the formation of, Mersey-Beat at Liverpool.

I am deducing that your statement is based on the misleading claim that Elvis invented rock 'n roll. Elvis stated in at least two different interviews that he "did not invent rock 'n' roll." That genre was around before he became a recording artist.
Elvis became the King of Rock 'n' Roll because of his record sales for the year 1956. Elvis had more million-selling records in 1956 and for the rest of the 1950s than any other recording artist.
To date, if you were to tally all the recordings shipped or streamed, Elvis outperforms any other recording artist.
When Elvis passed away, demand for his records was off the charts. RCA had to retool all of its pressing plants to produce NOTHING but Elvis products. RCA couldn't fulfill the orders. After 18 months, RCA's other artists started to complain about the lack of attention they were receiving.
According to RCA's pressing plants, during those 18 months, 2 million Elvis records were shipped in the United States alone. Colonel Parker and RCA did not submit those sales to Billboard Magazine. Billboard has seen the records proving 2 million units were printed and shipped, but since the Colonel was careless with the sales figures and did not take the time to properly file those results with Billboard magazine, Billboard refuses to consider those numbers.
To quote John Lennon, the founder of the Beatles, "Without Elvis, there would be no Beatles." Through interviews with other artists, this statement can be paraphrased and applied to Robert Plant and John Bonham, (Led Zepplin), Roger Daltry and Pete Townshend (The Who), Suzi Quatro, Bruce Springsteen, Ricky Nelson, Conway Twitty, and Gene Vincent. Buddy Holly changed from being a Country artist to Rock n Roll after hearing Elvis' first recording "That's All Right Mamma.".
