Chuck Berry remains an influential figure and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music who first began performing in 1953. Cub Koda wrote, "Of all the early breakthrough rock & roll artists, none is more important to the development of the music than Chuck Berry. He is its greatest songwriter, the main shaper of its instrumental voice, one of its greatest guitarists, and one of its greatest performers." John Lennon was more succinct: "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."
Berry was among the first musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on its opening in 1986. He received Kennedy Center Honors in 2000 in a "class" with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Plácido Domingo, Angela Lansbury, and Clint Eastwood. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Chuck Berry #5 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He was also ranked 6th on Rolling Stone's Rolling Stone's 100 greatest guitarists of All Time.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included three of Chuck Berry's songs (Johnny B. Goode, Maybellene, Rock & Roll Music), of the 500 songs that shaped Rock and Roll.
Chuck Berry held a special place, in terms of sound development, in the formation of, Mersey-Beat at Liverpool.
The finest exponent of Chuck Berry, guitar, sound at Liverpool during 1959 to 1963, was Vincent Tow/Ismail, who in turn passed on many of the learned skills to Lennon & McCartney, his friends and colleagues during that period--1959 to 1962/3.
Chuck Berry also influenced many of the great rock 'n' roll bands that we know today including The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

Run, run Rudolph, Randalph ain't too far behind
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's gotta make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph 'cause I'm reeling like a merry go round
Said Santa to a boy "Child what have you been longing for?"
"All I want for Christmas is a rock and roll electric guitar"
Run, run Rudolph, Santa has to make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph, reeling like a merry go round
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's gotta make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph, I'm reeling like a merry go round
Said Santa to a girl "Child what would please you most to get?"
"A little baby doll that can cry, sleep, drink and wet"
And then away went Rudolph whizzing like a Saber jet
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's gotta make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph, I'm reeling like a merry go round
The song "Run Rudolph Run" by Chuck Berry is an upbeat rock and roll Christmas song that tells the story of Rudolph, Santa's favored reindeer, who is tasked with leading Santa's sleigh to town. The lyrics describe Rudolph as the "mastermind" compared to the other reindeer, and encourage him to run as fast as he can because Santa has to deliver presents to children all around the world on Christmas Eve. The song also highlights the desires of children during the holiday season, as Santa asks a boy what he wants for Christmas (a rock and roll electric guitar) and a girl what she wants (a baby doll that cries, sleeps, drinks, and wets).
The first verse sets the stage for the rest of the song, with Chuck Berry's signature guitar riff leading into the lyrics about Rudolph and his speed. The second verse introduces the idea of Santa granting the wishes of children, with the boy and girl characters representing the many different desires that children have during the holiday season. The chorus, which repeats throughout the song, brings together the urgency of Santa's mission with Rudolph's speed and agility. The final verse has Rudolph soaring through the sky like a jet as he hastens to deliver the children's gifts.
Overall, "Run Rudolph Run" is a fun and festive Christmas song that showcases Chuck Berry's musical talent and storytelling abilities. The upbeat tempo and memorable chorus make it a popular holiday tune that has been covered by many artists over the years.
