1. Circ are producer Alexander Perls (009 Sound System, Icebreaker International) and vocalist Madelin Lane (Madelin Zero). The two met at a Sonic Youth concert on The Bowery in New York City during the summer of 2001. Perls had been living in NYC since 1998, working for the American video artist Matthew Barney. Madelin had moved to NYC six months earlier, and was working for a midtown talent agent as a talent scout for the daytime soap operas. After some conversation, somehow it turned out that Perls was looking for a vocalist for a track he was producing and Madelin wanted to try some singing. He said he had a song called "Destroy She Said" which needed a vocalist. Perls and Madelin first recorded in Perls' basement studio in Chinatown, right near the East River in Lower Manhattan. The vocal tracks for "Destroy She Said" were all recorded during one very hot night during the summer of 2001, four months before the September 11th attacks. The lyrical reference to "the towers" is merely coincidental. Their debut album Love Electric was released in Germany in 2004. The duo disbanded shortly thereafter in 2005.
2. CIRC (François Rousseau) who can be found at http://circ.bandcamp.com/, is a French indie electronica artist who makes catchy, steady, abstract and experimental electronic songs with fascinating rhythmics, melodies & dirty sounds. His instrumental electronic songs tell so much with only a few elements without sounding repetitive. It's addictive and you just want more.
Destroy She Said

Like a bomb blast in your town
Like a hostage tied in chains
I could not forget your name
Destroy, she said
My love again
The end will come quickly
Don't try again
To make amends
You'll just end up sinking
If you explode in aftermath
Don't think you've been dreaming
Destroy, she said
My love again
When it's not worth keeping
Like a helicopter crash
Like a ghetto that's been smashed
Like bodies on a battlefield
I can't live with how you feel
Destroy, she said
My love again
The end will come quickly
Don't try again
To make amends
You'll just end up sinking
If you explode in aftermath
Don't think you've been dreaming
Destroy, she said
My love again
When it's not worth keeping
Not along and not apart
You finished what you could not start
In the corners of the day
You catch my eye and then looked away
What a generous remark you made
When you blew it all away
Destroy, she said
My love again
The end will come quickly
Don't try again
To make amends
You'll just end up sinking
If you explode in aftermath
Don't think you've been dreaming
Destroy, she said
My love again
When it's not worth keeping
Destroy, she said
My love again
The end will come quickly
Don't try again
To make amends
You'll just end up sinking
If you explode in aftermath
Don't think you've been dreaming
Destroy, she said
My love again
When it's not worth keeping
The song "Destroy She Said" by Circ hints at the toxic and destructive nature of a love relationship. The lyrics have a tone of hopelessness, highlighting the strong emotions of disappointment, frustration, and giving up. The first verse talks about the power of destruction through similes - a tower falling down, a bomb blast in a town, and a hostage in chains. These examples create a vivid picture of the intense emotions that can cause havoc in a relationship. The singer then quotes his lover, saying, "Destroy, she said, my love again when it's not worth keeping," which indicates the end of the relationship.
In the second verse, the singer uses more striking similes to describe the situation. He talks about a helicopter crash, smashed ghettos, and bodies on a battlefield, highlighting the aftermath of an intense, destructive event. He also admits that he cannot live with the way his lover feels or the disruptions that she causes in their relationship. The last stanza talks about one of his lover's remarks, which was to blow it all away, after which he repeats the chorus, emphasizing the theme of love turned hopeless.
"Destroy She Said" is an intense song that depicts a relationship's turbulent nature. It showcases the power of emotions and the destructive events that occur when people are unable to deal with them in a healthy way. This song's well-crafted lyrics are open-ended, allowing listeners to interpret them in their unique way.

What a beautiful, underrated classic of early 2000s dance. Dance music used to be so good back then, how come it turned into complete shite in the past 18 years?
Storming Elysium
Some of the lyrical imagery is an unfortunate coincidence, but this song is so beautiful, it's still one of my favorites.

Underrated song indeed, as some have mentioned. I'm glad it appears to have a small cult following though :-)
