Where you land might be on a
Many fools have made it to the top
And there's always some other fool ready to kick them off
But I'm a stone survivor
And I've seen this little world go 'round
I'm a straight through driver
Down on luck I play the blues
Might get rough, but I live the life I choose
And I ain't no apologizer
I'm a stone survivor
Some are in for the long run
Some may peak before they're even twenty-one
Some may doubt when their luck is almost gone
If my star don't shine I think I'll just keep on keepin' on
I'm a stone survivor
And I've seen this little world go 'round
I'm a straight through driver
And the ever spinning wheel don't get me down
Down on luck I play the blues
Might get rough, but I live the life I choose
And I ain't no apologizer
I'm a stone survivor
(Oh, look out!)
You might be pretty as a peach,
Might beat that drum like candy for free
Warm many hearts as long as your force can reach
But if you just don't get it, ain't no fool that can't see
I'm a stone survivor
And I've seen this little world go 'round
I'm a straight through driver
And the ever spinning wheel don't get me down
Down on luck I play the blues
Might get rough, but I live the life I choose
And I ain't no apologizer
I'm a stone survivor
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!)
I'm a stone survivor, yes I am
Oh, Lord
(Stone survivor)
I'm a straight through driver
Wooooh!
The song "Stone Survivor" by Coco Montoya is about resilience and perseverance. The lyrics acknowledge that life can be unpredictable and difficult; people "rise" and "drop," and "many fools" make it to the top only to be "kicked off" by others. However, the singer sees himself as a "stone survivor," someone who has weathered the ups and downs of life and remains steadfast. He's not one to shy away from playing the blues when he's "down on luck," but he takes responsibility for his own choices and doesn't apologize for who he is.
In the second verse, the singer reflects on the different paths people take through life. Some people may hit their peak early, while others may struggle until they're older. The key, he suggests, is to keep going even when your luck runs out. The song ends with a warning to anyone who might underestimate the singer, reminding them that he's been through it all and is still standing.
Overall, "Stone Survivor" is a song about resilience, determination, and owning your identity.
