07. I Never Told You
Colbie Caillat Lyrics

How you kiss me at night
I miss the way we sleep
Like there's no sunrise
Like the taste of your smile
I miss the way we breathe
What I should have said
No, I never told you
I just held it in
And now,
I miss everything about you
Can't believe that I still want you
And after all the things we've been through
I miss everything about you
Without you, oh
I see your blue eyes
Every time I close mine
You make it hard to see
Where I belong to
When I'm not around you
It's like I'm not with me
But I never told you
What I should have said
No, I never told you
I just held it in
And now,
I miss everything about you (still you're gone)
Can't believe that I still want you (loving you I should have never walked away)
And after all the things we've been through (I know it's never going to come again)
I miss everything about you
Without you
But I never told you
What I should have said
No, I never told you
I just held it in
And now,
I miss everything about you (still you're gone)
Can't believe that I still want you (loving you I should have never walked away)
And after all the things we've been through (I know it's never going to come again)
I miss everything about you
Without you
Oh oh oh oh oh
Mmm mmm mmm mmm
In "I Never Told You," Colbie Caillat sings about the lingering feelings she has for someone she's no longer with. She longs for the little things that they used to do, like the way they slept and how they breathed. The blue eyes that she used to look into and the taste of his smile are things she misses deeply. It's clear that she regrets not telling him how she felt before it was too late. She held her feelings in and never expressed them. The chorus repeats the phrase "I miss everything about you" and highlights the fact that even though he's gone, her feelings remain strong. She can't believe that she still wants him even after everything they've been through. The song shows the power of regret and unexpressed feelings, and it's a message to the listeners to speak their hearts and not hold back their emotions.
