Raye first attracted Nashville's attention as the lead vocalist on a string of independent singles in the 1980s. Billed as The Wrays, the act released a couple of singles on Mercury Records in the mid-80s before breaking up. Epic Records signed Raye as a solo act in 1990. A year later, the nostalgic ballad Love, Me hit No. 1, and by 2000, he charted 21 Top 10 hits for Epic. His first four studio albums, as well as his Greatest Hits, have been certified platinum. His best-known hits include Little Rock, about a recovering alcoholic, and I Think About You, about watching his teenage daughter grow up.

This song was in my head a lot last week
I lost my grandpa to terminal liver cancer in July and this song for some reason was just stuck in my head!
Previously Grandma had given me a letter from grandpa that he'd written on the day of my highschool graduation (13yrs ago)
I could hear his voice in my head so clearly as if he was sitting right there reading it to me
Idk why he never gave it to me, God must've known it would mean more to me now than it would have then
It was a short but sweet note and it's now been laminated and framed on my TV stand, still tear up whenever I read it!

I wasn’t sure how old this song is and the first one I heard it, someone sang it at a karaoke bar. I thought it was sweet. Then I listened to it today and recently. I can sing this myself without the tune and get goosebumps. It’s so sweet and special.

This song just took on a special significance for me. Yesterday, I stood at the bedside of my sweetheart and loving companion of 17 years, and listened as her heart finally gave out. My heart is broken, and probably will be for a long time to come. I've asked her daughter who is in charge of her funeral arrangements to please include this song, and she's agreed. My family and I kept hearing this song while we drove up to Salt Lake for my grandma's funeral back in 2001. I love this song but it does make me cry. We lost my grandpa within a year of my grandma. Now, my other grandparents are dying so this song is really touching me now.
