Real works on this project in balance (and sometimes not) with his full time career as a Sound Designer at BioWare Edmonton, making some of the most highly regarded video games in the industry.
There are a wide range of influences in the Comaduster palette, some include: IDM, Drum and Bass, Industrial, Ambient and Post-Rock.
The project started in 1998 and originally went under the title 'FXseries'. During this time a local album entitled "Ghostmachine" was released.
In 2004 there was a brief name change to 'Daedal' and a 5 track demo was released online. The demo had a generally positive response. During this time remixes were done for Icon of Coil and Dismantled, as well as mixing work on the Dismantled album "Standard Issue", released on Metropolis and Dependent records.
In 2008 the name was changed to 'Comaduster' and the project took on a more focused objective.
In late 2009 the album "Slip through" was released online for free (or donation). This album was a culmination of work from 2002-2006, with the title track being composed in 2008. It was pared down from 19 tracks to 7 over the course of finalizing it in 2009. It was originally intended to be a release of unfinished material that would not have seen the light of day otherwise. Over the course of mixing and reworking the material a more focused sound started to emerge from a few of the tracks in the large list.
The album was released in late September 2009 and has been highly regarded.
In January of 2010 the unreleased track "Hide to Seek" was released in the Xbox 360 game "Mass Effect 2" . You can hear this track in the Eternity club in the game.
On September 24th 2010 the track "Foam Abattoir" will be released on Dependent Record's "Septic IX" compilation.
In late 2010 a remix EP follow for Slip Through will be released. This has yet to be given a title.
And on September 25th 2010 Comaduster will be performing his first full on Audio Visual piece (untitled).
This piece will be released in 2011 in some form or another.

On muted lines
Gripping fear
That someone will see us here
You’re more my size
A bark as loud as my bite
Come save me from my self
The Pain in my heart
Carried all the time
The hush of your voice
The weapons we ride
The pain in my heart
Discard it into dust
Let it go
Let the sun Illuminate us both and make us so
I’m underground
Explosive lay lines
Fragile times
Under pressure we both hide
With a gripping fear
That someone will catch us here
I know those eyes
Don’t tell me to tell a lie
I walk the world
Disputing skylines
Shift your eyes
I try to fight
Words that are buried inside
A laser eye
Illuminated hollow insides
The lyrics to Comaduster's song "Monolith" convey a sense of isolation, vulnerability, and the constant struggle to keep hidden. The singer walks through the world, feeling bound by invisible restrictions, afraid of being discovered. They long for someone to save them from their own self-destructive tendencies.
The pain in their heart is a constant companion, weighing them down, while the quietness of a loved one's voice provides solace. They ride the weapons of their emotions, trying to release the pain by discarding it into dust, allowing the sun to illuminate them both and bring them peace.
The singer describes themselves as underground, symbolizing their hidden nature, explosive like lay lines that run beneath the surface. In these fragile times, they and their loved one hide under pressure, anxiously aware of the possibility of being caught. They know the eyes that watch them, urging them to keep their true selves hidden, but they refuse to lie.
They continue to walk through the world, challenging the established norms (disputing skylines) and attempting to fight the words buried deep within them. Their inner turmoil is like a laser eye, exposing their hollow insides, longing to be illuminated.
Overall, "Monolith" explores themes of secrecy, fear, and the desire for liberation from self-imposed restrictions. It reflects the struggle many individuals face when trying to be their authentic selves in a world that constantly demands conformity.

Easily the best Comaduster single since joining FiXT.
Skull
Raycevick, I have to thank you for whichever video you recommended Solace in. One of the best albums I've listened to and Comaduster has probably become my favorite artist, so thanks for that
Comaduster
Glad you like it, dude! Much more on the way for this 'Anthology'. Like -- a LOT more.

This is great. Love the beautiful vocals, and the heavy, almost violent sounding bass, but my favourite characteristic is the alternating beat pattern, it creates an interesting sensation of unease if you ever lose track and get the extra beat when you weren't expecting it, or when you expect it and it's not there. Overall another awesome Comaduster song, can't wait to hear more from the upcoming album.

Thank you! Glad you like it and have picked up on the weirdness and 'unease'. This tune is definitely meant to live in contrast and be on the cusp of sounding 'broken' .

I love how good comaduster is at making breaking conventions sound so damn good. Always amazes me.

Super stoked for the album release next month!

Thanks a bunch! It's always been a goal to challenge conventions with this project. It always will be. I'm glad it's translating!
