Legend of the Spaceborne Killer
Crobot Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The legend of the spaceborne killer
Made the front page today
Nobody knows where he came from
Why he's here, or what he'll do to you

I just saw the flashing lights
They blinded me they shined so bright
Is it half bird, half bot, or half alien
Well, I don't know but he's got something in his hand!

The legend of the spaceborne killer
I met face to face today
I couldn't tell just what he wanted
If I had it to give I would've gave it away

I just saw his glowing eyes
They blinded me they shined so bright
Is it half bird, half bot, or half alien
Well, I don't know but he's got something in his hand!

In his hand
Well, in his hand
Well, in his hand
Well, in his hand

No more buildings to stand tall
No, he must've destroyed them all
Is it half bird, half bot, or half alien
Well, I don't know but he's got something in his hand!

Yeah, in his hand
Well, in his hand

Well, in his hand
Well, in his hand

Overall Meaning

"The Legend of the Spaceborne Killer" by Crobot is a science fiction narrative about an unknown alien-like creature that has come to destroy mankind. The song starts with the news of the creature's arrival, which has made the front page of the newspaper. The lyrics do not give any explanation for the creature's sudden appearance or the reason behind his destructive behavior. With the arrival of the spaceborne killer, there is a sense of panic and the fear of the unknown.

In the second verse, the singer comes face to face with the creature but can't understand what he wants or why he is on Earth. The glowing eyes and the mysterious object in the creature's hand add to the ominous and menacing aura that surrounds him. The chorus repeats the same lines of wondering what kind of creature this is - is it half bird, half bot or half alien - but emphasizes that the creature indeed has something important in his possession.

The song's final verse indicates that the spaceborne killer has potentially destroyed all the buildings and structures in the area, implying that he has caused significant damage. The song concludes with the haunting repetition of "in his hand," leaving the listener wondering what that object might be and what the spaceborne killer might do next.

This is a really easy song, google the tabs, it's just the minor pentatonic scale and some wah wah!

@midnightmetal4ever

Grab yourself a guitar and go for it! Been playing twenty years, have not regretted a moment of it. This song is on Rocksmith 2014 (DLC), so you could learn it through that as well.

Hahaha, dude I get that same feeling and I can play guitar/bass/and sing fairly well. The music industry is a bitch and it's hard to get a break. All you can do is pick up that guitar or mic and play your damn soul out. Learn and instrument and have fun with it, brother. You won't regret it. \m/
