Nowhere To Hide
Crobot Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The hangman's coming, bring him forth
Get your spirit ready to crossover
You won't hide for long behind the dungeon walls
There's no escaping after the hammer falls

Hands to the sky 'cause it's tumbling down
Cracking a smile as it hits the ground
Speechless and all choked up
Justice attached to a rope
There ain't nowhere to hide on the frontline

Speechless and all choked up
Justice attached to a rope
There ain't nowhere to hide on the frontline

The gallows' swingin' to a dead man's song
Sounds of flaming arrows, a rhythm so strong
Knights are saddled; send the prison hounds
It's a war of the worlds until he's found

Hands to the sky 'cause it's tumbling down
Cracking a smile as it hits the ground

Speechless and all choked up
Justice attached to a rope
There ain't nowhere to hide on the frontline
Speechless and all choked up
Justice attached to a rope
There ain't nowhere to hide on the frontline

Hands to the sky 'cause it's tumbling down
Cracking a smile as it hits the ground

Speechless and all choked up
Justice attached to a rope
There ain't nowhere to hide on the frontline
Speechless and all choked up

Justice attached to a rope
There ain't nowhere to hide on the frontline

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Crobot's song "Nowhere To Hide" speak of the inevitability of consequences catching up to someone who has acted unjustly. The first verse refers to the hangman, symbolizing a punishment that is final and lethal. The lines "You won't hide for long behind the dungeon walls, There's no escaping after the hammer falls" indicate that the person who has committed a wrongdoing will be held accountable eventually. This idea is further driven home in the chorus, where the lyrics "Speechless and all choked up, Justice attached to a rope" suggest that the person who has been caught has no defense and must face the consequences of their actions.

The second verse introduces a more war-like imagery, perhaps indicating that the wrongdoing committed was against a larger group of people, rather than an individual. The line "Knights are saddled; send the prison hounds" suggests that those who have been wronged are mobilizing to seek justice. The repetition of the chorus emphasizes the point that the person who has committed the wrongdoing will have nowhere to hide once they are caught.

The lyrics of "Nowhere To Hide" are a commentary on the consequences of actions and the idea that injustice will always be punished eventually. The use of vivid imagery adds to the ominous tone of the song, and the repetition of the chorus drives home the message of inevitability.

Dude hits so many vocal ranges. One song he sounds like John Bush, this one Cornell meets Miles Miles Kennedy, my point is great Rock vocals. Love this group and i just discovered them.

Listen people, I just listened to these guys open for Anthrax and Motorhead and I can tell you they were absolutely amazing live. They put so much energy into their performance, you even had the singer riding on top of another's shoulders during a performance and everything. I heard this song before, but at that show I became a true fan well done.

LadyV431

I was there. They went on the Motorhead Cruise the next day

I saw this band perform last night at the Paramount in Huntington as a warm-up band for Chevelle. Let me just say that this band not only sounded amazing, but they alsoΒ exhibited mesmerizingΒ energy whenΒ performing live!Β ItΒ is evident that the members of this bandΒ exhibit a pronounced dynamic! The singers voice is alluring andΒ his presence is astounding! The man can definitely sing!Β The bassist was impeccable! The guitarist added an extra element of rock to the stage and was able to really tear it up! He's using the same guitar in the music video that I saw him use last night! The drummer was also amazing and very precise! They're apparently from Central Pennsylvania and it was my first time ever seeing them perform, but I know it will not be my last. I really appreciated this bands performance! Outstanding and captivating!Β

Man, I can't get enough of this stuff.

Listening to Crobot makes me want to ride a dirt bike, go hunting, and grow a beard (too bad I can't). Love this band and their sound.

Kevin Santoro

These guys kill it live.

Caryn

You guys sound like a 70s band whose records were always being played by a dj who refused to throw them out. GOOD STUFF!!
