The Mouse and the Mask was released on October 11, 2005 by Epitaph in the United States. It was also released by Lex Records in the United Kingdom on October 17, 2005, with different cover art.
It was inspired by Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming (where it also received considerable advertising) and features guest performances by Ghostface Killah, Cee-Lo and Talib Kweli as well as character voices and clips from many Adult Swim shows.
DANGERDOOM have also recently released the "Occult Hymn" EP. It features two skits, reworkings of several tracks from "The Mouse and the Mask", and is available for free download from http://www.adultswim.com/promos/dangerdoom/occulthymn/index.html.
A Single for Sofa King has been released as well as a video for "Aqua Teen Hunger Force".
MF DOOM had previously collaborated with DJ Danger Mouse on his remix of Zero 7's Somersault.

The song "Space Hoes" by DANGERDOOM revolves around the main character, Space Ghost, who is a talk show host that gets invaded by two evil guests - Zorak and MF Doom himself. MF Doom talks about Space Ghost, whose previous career was a superhero, and how he was given a talk show which he is not qualified for. He references Space Ghost's space cannon and how he always waves it around while being unpredictable, also making it to Race Bannon's face, a reference to the character from Jonny Quest. The character Moltar is blamed for editing the show and Zorak is called out for being part of the Way-Outs.
MF Doom then talks about how he wishes to have his own late-night show where he can do a monologue and perform with guests like Madlib. The song then moves onto Brak, a character from Space Ghost's show. MF Doom questions how Brak's man (referring to Space Ghost) got a show so whack and if he ever considered working with Err and Ignignokt. He then references the destructo ray, Space Ghost's cape and pantsuit, and how they look straight out of a drag, meaning it looks unusual.
The song keeps moving back and forth between MF Doom's commentary and the banter between characters on the Space Ghost show. MF Doom also references various pop culture characters like Father Guido Sarducci, Judy Jetson, and Charo. He concludes by asserting that he thinks he can do a better job with attracting the audience and becoming a host with the most on Space Ho's Coast to Coast.
