Overall Meaning

The lyrics of DYCR's song The Barber talk about the experience of an elderly rastafarian who used to go to a barber each week for a haircut. One day, when he was sitting on the barber's chair, he heard the barber talking to himself saying he won't do it, and he got scared. The barber then replied that the devil told him to make a boast like a goat. This experience made him vow to never let scissors come on his head again. The song talks about the different ways people could experience strange or dangerous things in their lives that make them realize their identity and purpose.

The lyrics seem to imply that sometimes, bad things could happen so that a person might discover a new path in life or learn something new about themselves. It could also mean that sometimes, people could get scared of something that isn't real, but that fear could propel them in a new direction. The song talks about the importance of being true to oneself and knowing one's identity.
