Rejected By Science
Daiquiri Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Don't I even deserve an autopsy?
I donated my body
Science rejected it
Just keep it, your body is no good here
Just keep it, we don't want it
Donated my body but it was rejected
Medical students, no nurses inspected
It was not good enough, it was rejected
It's my final offer and it got shot down
Dead or alive no one wants me around
The lyrics of Daiquiri's song "Rejected By Science" express a deep feeling of despair and rejection. The opening lines "Cut, why won't you cut me? / Don't I even deserve an autopsy?" suggests that the singer has a desire to be dissected and analyzed, possibly to discover the cause of their death or to understand the workings of the human body. However, there is a sense that even in death, the singer is not worthy of attention, as science has rejected their body.
The lines "Just keep it, your body is no good here / Just keep it, we don't want it" reinforces this feeling of worthlessness and rejection. The singer has donated their body to science, hoping to be of use even in death, yet they are deemed unfit for study. It is a tragic realization that even in death, one's body can be unwelcome and useless.
