Nos están matando
Nos están matando
Ay! Perdone usted
Somos los de abajo
Somos los de abajo
Cuantos muertos!
No sabemos cuánto tiempo vamos a aguantar
Cuántos muertos vamos a llorar?
Ay! Disculpe usted
Nos están quemando
Nos están quemando
Ay! Perdone usted
Los que están al mando
Los que están al mando
No sabemos cuánto tiempo vamos callar
Cuantos muertos!
No sabemos cuánto tiempo vamos a aguantar
Cuántos muertos vamos a llorar?
Ay! Disculpe usted
Nos están matando
Nos están matando
No sabemos cuánto tiempo vamos callar
Cuantos muertos!
No sabemos cuánto tiempo vamos a aguantar
Cuántos muertos vamos a llorar?
The lyrics of Dani Bander's song "Disculpe Usted" are a powerful and raw expression of frustration, anger, and despair in the face of violence and injustice. The repetition of "Ay! Disculpe usted" and "Ay! Perdone usted" throughout the song serves as a plea for understanding and recognition of the suffering and pain experienced by the marginalized and oppressed individuals in society.
The repeated phrase "Nos están matando" (They are killing us) conveys a sense of urgency and alarm, highlighting the ongoing violence and harm being inflicted upon the vulnerable and disenfranchised members of the community. The use of the word "matar" (to kill) is symbolic of the literal and metaphorical violence that is being perpetrated against the powerless.
The lyrics also touch upon a sense of powerlessness and resignation felt by those who are constantly subjected to oppression and brutality. The lines "No sabemos cuánto tiempo vamos a aguantar / Cuántos muertos vamos a llorar?" (We don't know how long we will endure / How many dead will we mourn?) reflect the uncertainty and sorrow that comes from witnessing the continuous cycle of violence and loss.
The references to being "los de abajo" (the ones from below) and to those "que están al mando" (who are in charge) draw attention to the systemic inequalities and injustices that perpetuate the suffering of the marginalized communities. The song challenges the status quo and calls for accountability from those in power who are complicit in the violence and atrocities being committed.
In conclusion, "Disculpe Usted" is a poignant and haunting reflection on the harsh realities faced by those who are marginalized and oppressed, and a call to action to confront and dismantle the structures of oppression that perpetuate violence and injustice. The lyrics capture the pain, anger, and resilience of a community under siege, urging for empathy, understanding, and change.
