Xanadu
Dannii Minogue Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Come come here
Come come here
Come come here

A place where nobody dared to go
The love that we came to know they call it Xanadu
And now open your eyes and see
What we have made is real we are in Xanadu

A million lights are dancing and there you are a shooting star
An everlasting world and you're here with me eternally

Xanadu Xanadu
(We are here)
In Xanadu

Xanadu Xanadu
(We are here)
In Xanadu
Xanadu your neon lights will shine for you Xanadu

The love the echos of long ago
Need the world to know they are in Xanadu
The dream that came through a million years
That lived on through all the tears it came to Xanadu

A million lights are dancing and there you are a shooting star
An everlasting world and you're here with me eternally

Xanadu Xanadu
(We are here)
In Xanadu

Xanadu Xanadu
(We are here)
In Xanadu we are in Xanadu

Now that I'm here now that you're here (it's Xanadu)
Now that I'm here now that you're here (it's Xanadu)
Now that I'm here now that you're here (it's Xanadu)
Now that I'm here now that you're here (it's Xanadu)

Come come here
Now here I come
Come here
Now here I come

Ah Xanadu

Ah Xanadu
Ah Xanadu

Overall Meaning

The song "Xanadu" by Dannii Minogue is an upbeat and joyful tune that celebrates the concept of a magical and mythical place called Xanadu. The lyrics of the song describe a place where nobody dared to go before, but now it's real and the love they share in that place is real. The singer invites the listener to open their eyes and see that they are in Xanadu, where a million lights are dancing, and they are both shooting stars in the everlasting world of Xanadu.

The song presents Xanadu as a place where dreams come true and where the love echoes of long ago need the world to know they are in Xanadu. The lyrics express the idea that Xanadu is not just a physical place, but also a state of mind and spirit where one feels eternally happy and fulfilled. It is a place where everything is possible, and neon lights shine for you.

The song is a tribute to the 1980 film "Xanadu," which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. The film tells the story of a young artist who dreams of opening a roller disco. The film received mixed reviews but some of the songs on the soundtrack, like "Xanadu," were very successful. The song "Xanadu" was co-written by John Farrar and Jeff Lynne, who also wrote the hit song "Evil Woman" for the Electric Light Orchestra.

Then you have TERRIBLE taste in music because EVERYONE knows that the original and Delta Goodrem's version are better! This is pure rubbish, it's so bad it makes my ears (not literally) bleed. its so bad that I wouldn't even force any of my pets, friends or family hear it. And to be honest, Dannii Minogue never was musically gifted in music, unlike her sister Kylie, who is amazingly gifted in music!
