I Will Come To You
Dannii Minogue Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I’m never alone now
Never alone now
Never alone now
Never alone, alone, alone, alone
Alone
Alone

If you could control my destiny
Would I be by your side constantly?
Would you catch a bird that needs to fly?
(Then why are you holding me back?
Why are you holding me?)

You don’t have to see the light to believe
I swear I’m not out of your sight to deceive
Do you never stop to wonder why?
Ah, ah, ah, ah

Chorus:
I only breathe when I’m free
Close your eyes when I need
Keep me alive in your dreams
I will come to you
In space travelling
Out of reach we begin
Baby you know in the end
I will come to you

Come to me

Some think I’m a soul of loneliness
Some say that my heart is homeless
That I’m chasing rainbows round the world
(But you are my home and home is where the heart is)

I’m seeing myself in every place
When the rain falls I kiss your face
Then maybe I’ll stop to wonder why
Ah, ah, ah, ah

Repeat Chorus

I’m never alone now
Never alone now
Never alone now
Never alone, alone, alone, alone
Alone
Alone

Repeat Chorus

Ah, ah, ah

Ah, ah, ah
Come to me

Overall Meaning

In Dannii Minogue's song I Will Come To You, the artist appears to be addressing someone who may be trying to hold her back from fulfilling her destiny. She questions whether the person would keep her constantly by their side if they could control her destiny. The chorus seems to suggest that Dannii only feels alive and free when she is able to breathe, keep her dreams alive, and travel in space. The line "I will come to you" is repeated several times, conveying the message that perhaps the person she is addressing is always on her mind wherever she goes.

Dannii reinforces this idea in the second verse when she talks about how she sees herself in every place, and it seems that only the person she's addressing is able to give her a sense of home. She describes being called lonely and heartless by some, but insists that he is her home and where her heart lies. The song paints a picture of someone seeking her own path and identity but still wanting to be close to someone important to her.
