Epílogo
Darvin Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Vendo daqui chove demais
Os momentos desse filme podem ser finais
Algum horror, nenhuma paz
Já que esses olhos verdes
Só me olham sem amor
E na ponte sobre nosso rio
Corre algum rancor
Dos fantasmas que passeiam
Soltos pela escuridão
Do vestido da princesa
E a mina de carvão

Saia daqui me deixe em paz
Os momentos decisivos podem ser crueis
Outro revez um passo atraz
Quando esses olhos verdes
Só me olham sem amor
E na ponte sobre nosso rio
Corre algum rancor
Dos fantasmas que passeiam
Soltos pela escuridão
Do vestido da princesa
E a mina de carvão

Sem amor
E na ponte sobre nosso rio
Corre algum rancor
Dos fantasmas que passeiam
Soltos pela escuridão
Do vestido da princesa
E a mina de carvão

Só me olham sem amor
E na ponte sobre nosso rio
Corre algum rancor
Dos fantasmas que passeiam
Soltos pela escuridão

Do vestido da princesa
E a mina de carvão

Overall Meaning

In "Epílogo," Darvin describes a dark and melancholic atmosphere. From his vantage point, he sees a troubled, rainy view, suggesting that these moments could be final, possibly implying a sense of foreboding. The eyes of his lover, although green, look at him without love, expressing a sense of alienation or estrangement. His lyrics dive deeper into a shared history full of memories that are still alive despite the passing of time. The bridge over the river carries a sense of resentment, along with haunting ghosts wandering around and enveloping the darkness everywhere. The reference to the princess's dress and coal mine perhaps evokes feelings of contrast and juxtaposition.

The lyrics of “Epílogo” uncover an internal conflict that is intensely felt by the singer. The moments as shown in a film, with all their glory and grandeur, could also bring horror and a lack of peace. There is a sense of being torn, of wanting someone to stay as well as leave. The intense emotional turmoil that is expressed in the lyrics is illustrated by the bridge over the flooded river, where the singer is experiencing the emotional weather of his inner life. The ghosts that roam around are perhaps remnants of lost opportunities, missed chances, and the gloom of what was once beautiful and whole.
