It was in 2006 that David Walters released Awa, his first album on the Ya Basta label! with the single "Mesi bon dyé", an adaptation of a prayer written by the Haitian guitarist Frantz Casseus in 1954. Three years later, in 2009, he released Home, teaming up with artists as Asa or Arthur H.
In 2011, he was selected by Canal + to host the program "Les Nouveaux Explorateurs". From then on, we see him traveling to the four corners of the world, in Africa, in South America or in Asia to meet colorful characters who live by and for music. Influenced by these trips, David Walters produced the NeverStopExploring mixtape in 2015 before leaving, this time for New Orleans, to participate in the Nola Is Calling project which builds bridges between the city and its African roots.
He released Soleil Kréyol under the Heavenly Sweetness label on the 31th of December 2019 teaming up this time with Seun Kuti, Ibrahim Maalouf, Vincent Segal, Marine Thibault and Célia wa.

Bwè Dlo
Yo ay jis lalin
Chèchè dlo asou Mars
Drivé nan linivè
Pou jwenn an lòt solèy (Bwè Dlo)
Ladjè pété anvil
Si ou valé lapousyè-a
Ou travay pou bétjé-a (Bwè Dlo)
Fal-nou mandé padon
Dlo pwèzonnné pwason
Loksijèn-lan mélé
Ziyann : I pa menm rété (Bwè Dlo)
Ziyann : I pa menm rété
Ziyann : I pa menm rété
Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo !
Kraché difé !
Sortez moi toutes ces lances
Ces lances à incendie
Tant d'incidents ici
Ici c'est l'incendie
Se lancer pensons-y
Danser pensons-y
Avancer pensons-y
Cela va sans dire
Carrément cadencer
Complètement balancer
Y'avait qu'à danser
Aller au bal danser
Bien masqués il faut
Visages camouflés
Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo !
Kraché difé !
Tu veux boire autre chose
C'est bien peu de chose
Tu veux boire de l'eau
De l'eau à gogo
Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo !
Kraché
Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo ! Bwè dlo !
Kraché
Bwè Dlo
David Walters's song "Bwè Dlo" is a mix of Creole and French lyrics that speak to the importance of water and the environment. The title translates to "Drink Water," emphasizing the necessity of this natural resource to human survival. Throughout the song, there are references to various aspects of nature, including the moon, the sea, and animals like goats and fish. These references serve to highlight the interconnectedness of all living things and the impact of human actions on the environment.
The first verse of the song speaks to the struggles of finding clean water, with the line "Chèchè dlo asou Mars/Drivé nan linivè/Pou jwenn an lòt solèy" translating to "Searching for water on Mars/Driven to the river/To find another sun." This may be interpreted as a commentary on the global water crisis and the lengths that people must go to find clean water. The next few verses address the need to care for and protect our environment, asking for forgiveness from Mother Earth and acknowledging the harm caused by pollution and overfishing.
The chorus of the song, a repetition of "Bwè Dlo! Kraché difé!" serves as a call to action. "Kraché difé" translates to "Spitting fire," and is a passionate plea to take action to protect our natural resources and the earth. Overall, "Bwè Dlo" serves as a reminder to care for the environment and the importance of preserving and protecting our natural resources.
