Deep Insight was formed in early 2002 in Kokkola, Finland by childhood friends Jukka (vocals) and Johannes (guitar). They soon found Joachim (drums) and Kaj (bass), cousins to each other, to complete the band.
The first release, Julia ep, was a theme record focused around the life and death of Julia, a character created by Jukka and Johannes on their crazy road trip to Paris in the winter of 2001. It actually gained many good reviews, most of them praising the young band’s promising songwriting and Jukka’s exceptional voice. It also got the band’s name spread around the music industry.
In 2003 big things started to happen for Deep Insight. The band recorded their debut album Ivory Tower at Soundtrack Studios in Helsinki, Finland, and Kaj was replaced by Miska on bass. Miska instantly gave a whole new meaning to sayings “ripping the bass” and “man uses his instrument like he uses his women”. The album came out in May, and the band started their first ever European tour.
Timing was perfect; Deep Insight’s mix of American rock and emo with Scandinavian influences was received with great enthousiasm amongst the audience and critics. It was only back home in Finland where the response was more reserved. Deep Insight soon returned to Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Latvia for summer festivals, and in October, it was time for the third foreign tour, a 5-week European adventure.
The second album "Red Lights, White Lines" was recorded and mixed in June-July 2004 with producers Jens Bogren (Katatonia, Lambretta) and Jonas Olsson (Callisto), who also supervised the pre-production before letting the band enter one of Sweden’s finest studios, Fascination Street (ex-Kuling) in Örebro. Finally, the album was mastered by Thomas Eberger (Bo Kaspers Orkester, Nine, Raised Fist) at Cutting Room in Stockholm, Sweden. And the sound and songs turned out great. Some critics gave it a rating 10/10 some gave it a 3/5.
Joachim decided to move to pastures new after the recording sessions and in came Ville. The third album "One Minute Too Late" came out in 2006 and is stylistically more diverse, including e.g. Mexican influences (on Five Minute Murder). After a while Miska also decided to leave the band, and along came Jore to fill his place.
After a little break in July 2008 the band was back to the studio recording new album. And this time they spent more time on making it instead of the usual one month locked inside. The release of the album is due to next spring. However, first single Rock With My Band will hit the stores in Finland on the 18th of February and digitally released on the 2nd of February in iTunes.
Deep Insight is back on the road and the Eropean tour starts in the end of April 2009.

One Minute Too Late
Deep Insight Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Had a tea from a cup that said i love you
I know i'm late but i'll catch up
Someday i will
Somewhore someshow. One minute too late,
cause now you're gone away (now she's gone away)
Had it done before you left your goodbyes
I know it's late but i'll wake up
(Honey i promise you)
Someday i will
Somewhore someshow. One minute too late,
cause now you're gone away (now she's gone away)
On last good night,
one moment too soon you sent yourself away.
I felt alive one moment in time
I'll sing these songs you left behind
I felt alive one moment in time
The opening lines of Deep Insight's song "One Minute Too Late" convey a sense of hopefulness and regret. The singer wakes up early and sips tea from a cup that says "I love you," which suggests that they are reminded of someone they care for deeply. However, the person they are thinking of has already left them. The singer acknowledges that they are late - perhaps too late - to catch up with the person they love, but they hold out hope that someday they will be able to.
The chorus of the song echoes this sentiment of regret and missed opportunity. The singer laments being "one minute too late" to catch the person they love before they left. The repetition of "now she's gone away" adds to the sense of loss and finality. However, there is also a sense of acceptance that the person is now gone and a willingness to live with the consequences of their actions.
The final lines of the song are bittersweet. The singer recalls feeling alive for a brief moment in time, perhaps when they were with the person they love. They resolve to sing the songs that the person left behind, suggesting that they will hold onto the memory of that person and continue to cherish them in their own way.
