Deep Insight was formed in early 2002 in Kokkola, Finland by childhood friends Jukka (vocals) and Johannes (guitar). They soon found Joachim (drums) and Kaj (bass), cousins to each other, to complete the band.
The first release, Julia ep, was a theme record focused around the life and death of Julia, a character created by Jukka and Johannes on their crazy road trip to Paris in the winter of 2001. It actually gained many good reviews, most of them praising the young band’s promising songwriting and Jukka’s exceptional voice. It also got the band’s name spread around the music industry.
In 2003 big things started to happen for Deep Insight. The band recorded their debut album Ivory Tower at Soundtrack Studios in Helsinki, Finland, and Kaj was replaced by Miska on bass. Miska instantly gave a whole new meaning to sayings “ripping the bass” and “man uses his instrument like he uses his women”. The album came out in May, and the band started their first ever European tour.
Timing was perfect; Deep Insight’s mix of American rock and emo with Scandinavian influences was received with great enthousiasm amongst the audience and critics. It was only back home in Finland where the response was more reserved. Deep Insight soon returned to Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Latvia for summer festivals, and in October, it was time for the third foreign tour, a 5-week European adventure.
The second album "Red Lights, White Lines" was recorded and mixed in June-July 2004 with producers Jens Bogren (Katatonia, Lambretta) and Jonas Olsson (Callisto), who also supervised the pre-production before letting the band enter one of Sweden’s finest studios, Fascination Street (ex-Kuling) in Örebro. Finally, the album was mastered by Thomas Eberger (Bo Kaspers Orkester, Nine, Raised Fist) at Cutting Room in Stockholm, Sweden. And the sound and songs turned out great. Some critics gave it a rating 10/10 some gave it a 3/5.
Joachim decided to move to pastures new after the recording sessions and in came Ville. The third album "One Minute Too Late" came out in 2006 and is stylistically more diverse, including e.g. Mexican influences (on Five Minute Murder). After a while Miska also decided to leave the band, and along came Jore to fill his place.
After a little break in July 2008 the band was back to the studio recording new album. And this time they spent more time on making it instead of the usual one month locked inside. The release of the album is due to next spring. However, first single Rock With My Band will hit the stores in Finland on the 18th of February and digitally released on the 2nd of February in iTunes.
Deep Insight is back on the road and the Eropean tour starts in the end of April 2009.

Rhythm of the Beat
Deep Insight Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Robots will abide
You have silently, silently made us bow
Innocence into the night
Fear grows without light
I have always been, always been walking blind
I feel the pulse
It is taking me deeper
We move with the rhythm of the beat
And the drummer is calling
You will say c'mon tonight
Shape up, get back in the line
Take me, take me out
You have violently, silently made us bow
Put you fear aside
Another day the same cold lie
I have always been, always been walking blind
I feel the pulse
It is taking me deeper
In time it's going to be alright
I hear a voice and I'm starting to believe her
In time it's going to be alright
We move with the rhythm of the beat
And the drummer is calling
You will say c'mon tonight
I can't sleep tonight
The drummer must be taken down
You will say c'mon tonight
Grandparents and ancestors
Where did we go wrong?
History is written by those who hang the heroes
Stop the clocks
Cut off the telephone
Here we go!
We move with the rhythm of the beat
And the drummer is calling
You will say c'mon tonight
The lyrics of Deep Insight's song "Rhythm of the Beat" seem to speak of a society that has been controlled by robots and forced to follow a monotonous routine. The line "Robots will abide" implies that the robots have taken over, and the people have no choice but to obey. However, the people are starting to realize that their freedom has been taken away from them. They have been "silently made to bow" and "always been walking blind." The fear of the unknown grows without light, and they need to stop and take control of their lives, even if it means taking out the drummer who represents the person pressing everyone to conform to the rhythm of the beat.
Despite this message of rebellion, the song also gives hope. The singer realizes that "In time it's going to be alright." They hear a voice that seems to encourage them to keep pushing for change. They also seem to find solace in the rhythm of the beat, which unites them and gives them a sense of community amidst their struggle. The final line, "You will say c'mon tonight," represents a call to action, a challenge to band together and fight against oppressors.
