The last day you ever see
Ask Yourself did you even try
Tomorrow's no guarantee
And what if you should die?
Could You tell me
What are You waiting for?
Said you always wanted more
(said you always wanted more)
There is no Tomorrow
There is just today
There is no forever
Don't let it slip away
(don't let it slip away)
But already at today
So don't wait
So don't wait
I don't believe in prophecy
I don't believe it's one fate to decide
I rather take my chance at sea
Then just try and try and try to survive
A 9 to 5 a daily suicide
So tell me
What are you waiting for?
(what are you waiting for)
No excuses anymore
(no excuses anymore)
And there is no Tomorrow
There is just today
There is no forever
Don't let it slip away
(don't let it slip away)
But already at today
So don't wait
Just don't wait
There is no Tomorrow
There is just today
There is no forever
Don't let it slip away
I can't...?
I rather die
?
Daily suicide
(daily suicide)
And there is no tomorrow
So what are you waiting for?
(what are you waiting for)
Said you always wanted more
(said you always wanted more)
And there is no Tomorrow
There is just today
There is no forever
Don't let it slip away
(don't let it slip away)
But already at today
So don't wait
(i rather die)
Just don't wait
(daily suicide)
The lyrics of Digital Summer's "Today" encourage listeners to take action and not wait for tomorrow. The singer asks the listener to ask themselves whether they have tried hard enough to achieve their dreams, because tomorrow is not guaranteed. The song emphasizes that there is only today and that forever may never come. The chorus repeats the idea that there is no tomorrow, only today, and encourages the listener to not let their chance slip away. The singer also states that they do not believe in fate or prophecy, preferring to take their chances and live life on their own terms. The bridge of the song alludes to the daily grind of working a 9-5 job as being a form of "daily suicide" and encourages the listener to stop making excuses and take action.
The lyrics of "Today" are a call to action and encourage listeners to seize the moment and not wait for tomorrow. The band's members have stated in interviews that they wrote the song after experiencing personal struggles and realizing the importance of living in the present moment. The song has resonated with fans, who have praised its uplifting message and catchy chorus. "Today" has become a fan favorite and a staple of Digital Summer's live shows.
