Jupiter Room
Digitalism Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Here is the room that we shared
It's the room that you cared for
So I haven't changed the room
How did the years slip away?
I could swear you're still there
For I haven't changed the room
Now that you're gone
What am I to do?
So many fantasies
Plans that we made
That will never come true
Oh and I haven't changed all that much
And I'm sure you'd be proud
Of the way that I came through
So if you happen to be passing by

To make sure that you'd recognize it
I haven't changed the room

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Digitalism's song "Jupiter Room" speak of the feelings of nostalgia and longing for a past loved one. The song reflects on a room that was once shared with this person and how, despite the years that have passed since they've left, nothing much has changed in this room. The singer expresses their disbelief at how time could have flown by so quickly, and remarks that they could still feel the presence of their former lover in the room.

The singer also expresses their sadness at the plans and fantasies they had together which will never come true, now that their partner is no longer with them. It is evident that this person played a significant role in their life, and the room they shared is a tangible reminder of the intimacy and memories they shared.

In the last stanza, the singer addresses their former lover, expressing their pride in the way they've moved on and the person they've become. They invite their partner to visit and take a look at the room they shared to see that nothing much has changed, and perhaps feel a sense of closeness once again.

Overall, the song is a reflection on the lingering feelings of love and loss, and a testament to the power of physical space in preserving memories and emotions.

Ultra Music Festival in Miami, I was 16 yrs old, first festival experience, first electronic music experience. I’m walking with a friend and I hear this crazy technologic remix coming from a smaller stage. I go and ended up staying their whole set, they eventually played this and it’s when I truly lost myself in the music. I was a strictly breaks, electro, dnb kid and because of their set and this song I feverishly started looking into blog house.
