Degrees of Existence
Dimmer Lyrics

Whatever you're in for
Whatever the preference
Why you looking at me for?
I don't know the answer
I dunno know the answer
It's probably different
It's just degrees of existence
Don't let anybody else come in and change your mind
Don't let anybody change your mind
Despite all the critics
Whatever you're after
Whatever the moment
Sourer or sweeter, shallow or deeper, harder or faster
Whatever the instant
You've gotta run with it
It's just degrees of existence
Don't let anybody else come in and change your mind
Don't let anybody change your mind
One man's coal is another man's gold
You see beauty in curious holds
You're carrying on, where, i don't know
But you've gotta roam where you've gotta roam
And we'll agree on the difference
We can ever after
So send me a letter from somewhere amazing
That's not so amazing
That you swear is better
I'll figure an answer
We'll agree on the difference
It's just degrees of existence
Don't let anybody else come in and change your mind
Don't let anybody change your mind
The lyrics in Dimmer's song "Degrees of Existence" can be interpreted as a call to embrace individuality and personal choice. The singer is essentially saying that in life there are various degrees of being, and each person's existence can be shaped by their choices and preferences. Whether someone chooses to live a life that is shallow or deep, hard or fast, the choice is theirs and should be respected. The singer recognizes that we are all unique and have different tastes and preferences, and that is okay. He implores the listener to not let anyone else come in and change their mind, indicating that personal choice should be respected, and that conforming to others' opinions should be avoided. The final lines indicate that even though we may have different opinions and experiences, we can still find common ground in understanding and celebrating our differences.
Overall, the lyrics suggest that one should live their life according to their own values and preferences, without worrying about how others may see them. The themes of individuality, choice, and respect are strongly emphasized throughout the song, making it a powerful anthem for those who value personal freedom and self-expression.
