Look Out For Mr. Stork
Disney Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
That persevering chap
He'll come along and drop
A bundle in your lap
You may be poor or rich
It doesn't matter which
Millionaires--they get theirs
Like the butcher and the baker
And let me tell you, friend
Don't try to get away
He'll find you in the end
He'll spot you out in China or he'll fly to County Cork
So you better look out for Mr. Stork
Look out for Mr. Stork
He's got you on his list
And when he comes around
It's useless to resist
Remember those quintuplets and the woman in the shoe
Maybe he's got his eye on you
The lyrics to Disney's song "Look Out For Mr. Stork" from the movie Dumbo are a playful and lighthearted way of acknowledging the arrival of a new baby. The song personifies Mr. Stork as a persistent character who will come along and deliver a baby to expectant parents. It suggests that it doesn't matter if you are poor or rich, everyone is susceptible to Mr. Stork's deliveries.
The lyrics also mention how millionaires are not exempt from Mr. Stork's visits, emphasizing that the stork's deliveries are unbiased and can happen to anyone. It humorously compares the arrival of a baby to the way the butcher and the baker receive their expected deliveries.
The second verse continues with the warning to "look out" for Mr. Stork, implying that he is determined and will eventually find you. It adds a comical touch by mentioning that Mr. Stork can spot you no matter where you are, even in distant places like China or County Cork. The reference to the quintuplets and the woman who lives in a shoe further reinforces the idea that Mr. Stork could choose anyone to deliver a baby to.
In summary, the lyrics of "Look Out For Mr. Stork" celebrate the arrival of a new baby and humorously depict Mr. Stork as a persistent character who will deliver babies to anyone, regardless of their circumstances.

This song takes on a whole new meaning when you imagine all those baby animals were the result of unplanned pregnancy
"Let me tell you friend. Don't try to get away, he'll find you in the end."

Animals are driven by instinct, so they can't really plan it.
@muffinland8660
Other than Mrs. Jumbo, the tigers seemed like the only ones who were definitely expecting this.
@daisymay6505
Muffin Land I agree
@TheVeryLastOne
@@muffinland8660or maybe they were all expecting it however the father tiger was the most nervous awaiting parent out of all of them so he was pacing around and watching the sky
@girl1213
@@TheVeryLastOne Yeah, the ladies are all sleeping because they're not worried.
Mrs. Jumbo is just eager because she's been waiting for one for a long time from the way it's portrayed. She's the only elephant who wanted a baby. But it's true in real life that even though you really want a baby doesn't mean it'll come right away. That's why she's so protective of him: he was wanted

Even though in reality male tigers don't want anything to with babies, I'm glad to see this subversion since it shows positivity towards fatherhood.
