La Aplanadora del Rock is known for mixing rock with Argentine folk music, and hard-to-get lyrics. The most successful point on the band's career came with the 1993 record La era de la boludez.
Other than founding members Mollo and Arnedo, different drummers have completed the normal trio: 1988 to 1990, Gustavo Collado; 1990 to 1995, Federico Gil Solá; 1995 to 2004, Jorge Araujo; and since 2004, Catriel Ciavarella.
The name of the band is taken from Sumo's favourite band and influences (the late Ian Curtis was a good friend of Luca Prodan) - Joy Division.
The band has recorded a number of covers, such as Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix and Light My Fire by The Doors. Covers not committed to CD include I Want You (She's So Heavy) and Day Tripper by The Beatles. In their shows, Divididos has played songs such as "Rock and Roll" and "Moby Dick" (Led Zeppelin), and "Little Wing" (Jimi Hendrix). The band also covers some Sumo songs, usually in medley format.

Donde clava el escorpión
Si queres saltar
En el pogo de Batan
Vete sueños
Sueno sueños
Vete sueños
Que te parece
La soledad
Las almas desiertas
La llaman ya
Cosas de Baboon
Si queres dormir
En la cama del mandril
Si queres volcar
En la almohada
Del faquir.
Del faquir.
The lyrics of Divididos's song "Cosas De Baboon" are characterised by a surrealistic tone and a poetic language that prompts the listener to derive their own meaning from them. The first two verses refer to a scorpion that could symbolise danger and the energy of a pogo dance in Batan, an area in Buenos Aires known for its nightlife. The next verse shifts the focus to dreams that never stop, perhaps indicating the restless mind of the singer or an unfulfilled desire.
The mention of loneliness and deserted souls in the following verse suggests that the song could be exploring the human condition in urban environments, where people are often alienated and longing for connection. The phrase "Cosas de Baboon" repeats throughout the song, functioning as a refrain that connects the different verses while adding a sense of mystery and ambiguity to the proceedings. The final verse mentions a mandrill's bed and a Faqir's pillow, which could represent the extremes of comfort and hardship, or fantastical landscapes where anything is possible.
